Movie Trivia/Goofs

→ View All
  • The first voice heard in the movie, an actor on the stage performing Barton's play, is John Turturro's.
  • SPOILER: The ending with the bird diving into the sea wasn't intentional. According to Ethan Coen and Joel Coen the bird got in the shot and they liked it so much, they decided to put it in. Birds also helped the Coens in Miller's Crossing, and Fargo.
  • The first film to win all three major awards (Palme D'or, Best Director, and Best Actor) at the Cannes Film Festival. Also, it was unanimously chosen for the Palme D'or.
  • Movie Goof (continuity error): SPOILER: When Charlie comes out of the elevator, the two detectives have just come out of Barton's room, and only a little way down the corridor. Charlie chases the second cop a good way down the corridor, but when he walks up to the fallen cop, he's still only at the door to Barton's room - we can see him walk past the door from Barton's POV.
