• Despite the remake having a higher MPAA rating than the original (PG-13 verses PG), the ratings board would not allow the remake to feature Coach Morris Buttermaker drinking alcoholic beer in the dugout as he had in the original. Strangely enough the board was fine with him spiking his non-alcoholic beer with hard liquor.
• Movie Goof (continuity error): While Bullock is talking into the microphone at the start of the game, the pop shield disappears between shots.
• Movie Goof (continuity error): In the middle of the championship game when Billy Bob yells at the team in the dugout his watch reads 10:48 when he starts yelling while at the end of the yelling it reads 11:45.
• Movie Goof (revealing mistake): In the final scene of the movie the camera pulls back to show the American flag blowing briskly in the wind, but all the trees behind the flag are perfectly still.
