Movie Trivia/Goofs

→ View All
  • Movie Goof (errors made by characters, possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): SPOILER: The date of the Balham tube station bombing and flood is incorrectly stated by elderly Briony as being "the 15th of October, 1940." The date of the actual event was October 14th, 1940.
  • John Normington who has a minor role as a vicar, died before British release.
  • Richard Eyre was originally attached to direct the project. However, as time passed he became busy with another film project and stage play. The producers and himself decided that, if they could find a director they all approved of, he would hand the project over. Joe Wright was found.
  • Movie Goof (incorrectly regarded as a mistake): In the British Army, brassards (armband) are used on uniforms to denote temporary rank or insignia. They are always worn on the right arm for uniformity. In the movie, Robbie's brassard is on his left arm whilst his colleague's is on his right. There is no insignia shown on either brassard.
