• Movie Goof (factual errors): When the prisoners arrive at the Mayan City, they run into an old man who is said to have laughing sickness. Kuru is a disease of Papua New Guinea (identified in 1900s) and has not been noted in Central America.
• Movie Goof (continuity error): When Jaguar Paw is in the trees and sees the torch lights of the hunting party, the close up shows his labret (lip) piercing missing. When he turns around, the piercing is back again.
• Movie Goof (errors made by characters, possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): (At 2:01:30) All three characters are staring in the same direction. As the camera dolly-zooms in to Jaguar Paw, the character behind him and on the right of frame is clearly following the camera such that by (2:01:33) he is no longer looking ahead but straight to camera off to his right hand side. Watch the whites of his eyes to confirm this.
• Movie Goof (continuity error): The "sick" girl's facial wounds change color and shape. At one point, when she is staring forward, the wounds are inverted - most notably the one on her chin.
