Jason Biggs stars as Jerry Falk, an aspiring writer in New York, who falls in love at first sight with a free-spirited young woman named Amanda (Christina Ricci). Jerry's reference to a very funny comedian who wrote "Never Trust A Naked Bus Driver" was referring to Jack Douglas (IX), who also wrote My Brother Was An Only Child.
Opened the 60th Venice Film Festival. Woody Allen made one of his rare public appearances at the opening gala.
This is loosely based on Woody Allen's experiences of being a young comic writer, he married young, and met and older man who taught him a lot about life, comedy, philosophy, and was institutionalized.
