Any Which Way You Can

Movie (1980)

Philo takes part in a bare knuckle fight - as he does - to make some more money than he can earn from his car repair business. He decides to retire from fighting, but when the Mafia come along and arrange another fight, he is pushed into it. A motorcycle gang and an orangutan called Clyde all add to the 'fun'.

Movie Trivia/Goofs

  • Movie Goof (continuity error): In the exterior (parking lot) scene when Philo's mother arrives at the Pink Cloud Motel and catches the booking clerk peeping in the window of Cloud 8, the door of Cloud 7 is visible and has the hinges at the left-hand side, its lock and handle on the right-hand side, and a sign saying 'Cloud 7' to the right of the doorframe. This is the room that Luther and Loretta Quince are in. A few minutes later, after Orville rams the Quinces' car and the police cars pursuing him frighten off the heavies, Luther peeps out the door of Cloud 7 and reports back to Loretta, "Somebody just bashed into our car, honeybunch." At this point, the door is hinged on the right-hand side and the 'Cloud 7' sign is on the wall to its left.
  • Movie Goof (continuity error): After the bar fight with Philo and Jack Wilson, Wilson picks up Philo's hat, Wilson's tie is very askew at that point. In the very next shot in handing him that hat the tie is perfect.
  • Movie Goof (continuity error): During the scene near the end where Beekman and his partner run from the Black Widows (and the hit men), Cholla reaches into the limo and takes the keys. While the camera angle is behind Cholla, you see him raise his hand above his head while holding the keys. Yet, as the angle switches to his left, his arm is just coming up from hip-level.
  • Movie Goof (revealing mistake): When Philo is dragged along the ground by Clyde, Philo is lifting his own head up off the ground every time he is pulled along. However, he's supposed to be unconscious from the knock to the head from the butt of the shotgun. He should not be able to pull his own head up every time he was pulled along.
