Natalie Smyka, who played Anna in this 2009 extension/remake, played June in the original short version, made in 2005.
This was a remake/full length version (by the same writer and Director) of the 2005 short Film presented at the 2005 film festival.
The exterior of the Riverview Hotel was shot on Universal Studio's New York City back lot before a massive fire destroyed it.
The interior of the Riverview Hotel was built on Universal's Stage 28, home to the still-standing original "Phantom of the Opera" set. The Riverview was built inside the massive opera house set. When the hotel's false elevator doors were removed for camera access, the view "across the hall" and through the 5th floor elevator shaft was of the gilded gold balconies of the old opera house.
The film was shot in 17 days.
