The filmed adaptation from the David Benioff's novel of the same name. Set in New York, a convicted drug dealer named Monty has one day left of freedom before he is sent to prison. Anger, blame, frustration, betrayal, guilt and loneliness are themes on this last day of friends, family, parties, saying goodbye, and setting things straight. A Spike Lee joint.

Movie Trivia/Goofs

On-screen father and son Brian Cox and Edward Norton have both appeared in films with the Hannibal Lecter character: Cox played Lecter in Manhunter, while Norton played Will Graham in that movie's remake, Red Dragon. Philip Seymour Hoffman also appeared in Red Dragon as reporter Freddy Lounds.
Monty has a poster of Cool Hand Luke in his house.
Movie Goof (continuity error): When Monty and Naturelle meet for the first time in the movie she's leaning forward to pet the dog, who's standing in front of her. In the next shot the dog is behind her back and Monty has to raise his hand holding a dog's leash over Naturelle's head to let her pass through.
Edward Norton says the word "fuck" 40 times in about five minutes during his monologue in the bathroom. The phrase "Fuck you" is on the mirror in the bathroom.
