Syfy Channel’s Development Slate: September 2012
Syfy Channel has announced several new projects in the works at various stages — some of which are coming to a TV screen near you and others that will inevitably not see the light of day.
Here is a round-up of the cable network’s announced development slate, and where things stand with each show as of September 2012:
BLOOD & CHROME
From: Michael Taylor, David Eick, Bradley Thompson, and David Weddle
Status: Not moving to series; Web release in limbo. Syfy originally conceived it as a Web series, but liked the script so much they made it a pilot for a new BSG series. After an incredible “sizzle reel” promo was leaked onto the Internet, the network announced it wasn’t going forward with the series but may pursue a Web series. The 90-minute pilot will air on Syfy at some point.
Story: The Battlestar Galactica prequel follows young pilot William “Husker” Adama (Luke Pasqualino) in the early days of the original war between the Cylons and the Twelve Colonies.
BLAKE’S 7
From: Marc Rosen, Joe Pokaski, Martin Campbell, and Georgeville Television
Status: A script-to-screen deal means that if Syfy likes the pilot script, they will commit to a 13-episode series
Story: Blake’s 7 is a remake of the classic 1970s British series about a crew of hardcore renegades and criminals who escape from a prison planet, battling both humans and aliens alike (story).

The series stars Grant Bowler, Julie Benz, Stephanie Leonidas, Tony Curran, Jaime Murray, Graham Greene, Mia Kirshner, and Fionnula Flanagan.

Thank you romeo53, it sounds hopeful that Sci Fi is making some sort of come back.
we can only pray
A few of these sound good, I cant wait to see what makes it to the screen
Thanks for the update, romeo. It'll be interesting to see the Blake's 7 remake. Still no news on the Warehouse 13/H.G. Wells spinoff?
hold on there whats this about a HG Wells spin off, now that is something I would watch.
me too, for sure.
all i can find is
The latest I heard from Jack Kenny:
Nothing is ever dead in Hollywood. We still have the notion. Bob Goodman and I have kicking around the idea of H.G. Wells prequel, and it wasn’t really about Warehouse 12, but it was about her character being kind of a Sherlock Holmesy type character in New York City in the 1890′s.It’s problematic because it’s really expensive to shoot it – to make a period show in 1890′s New York, it’s a fortune. And so we’re still kicking that around, we’re stillworking with Syfy on it, it’s not right now currently at the top of their development slate, but like I say, “Nothing is dead in Hollywood until there’s astake through its heart,” and right now I don’t think there’s a stake through our hearts. So it might happen, you never know.
seeing she just signed on for Defiance a new syfy show
