sounds good to me
Syfy considering remake of the classic sci-fi series Blake’s 7
Syfy Channel is considering a reboot of one of the greats of science fiction past: Blake’s 7, which ran on BBC for four seasons from 1978 to 1981.
Blake’s 7 has a script-to-series commitment from Syfy, according to Deadline, meaning that if the network likes the script they will green light a 13-episode series.
Marc Rosen (Threshold) would produce the series for Georgeville Television, with Joe Pokaski (Heroes, CSI) writing the pilot and Martin Campbell (Green Lantern) attached to direct. Pokaski and Campbell would be among the executive producers if the show goes to series.
Georgeville shopped the series to networks last month, with Syfy an obvious choice — particularly after its success rebooting the 1970s series Battlestar Galactica, which found both popular and critical success.
The original series was created by Terry Nation, who also created Doctor Who‘s Daleks. It told the story of a crew of hardcore renegades and criminals who escape from a prison planet, battling both humans and aliens alike. Its influences were felt in other cult favorites, including Farscape and Lexx.
Syfy is also developing Clandestine in the hopes of returning to space-based television (story).
