In spite of a libido-suppressing devise worn by each crew member (a HALOS) romantic entanglement will occur. Further complicating their lives is a mysterious storage pod with a secret impact on their mission…

These to much like reality shows seem to get the cancellation sticker first. People are more interested in the far out SG type of universe.

Watched both Episodes that aired last night and I have to admit I'm impressed, they seem to have taken the best ideas from Viruality, mixed in a believable mission with a far higher quality cast.

Is there any reason why Defying Gravity is not showing up in my recently aired episodes.

I love this show, I watched it last night it is awesome. they have released ep1 and ep2 on the same night

This show is so much like Virtuality, it is frightening... Even down to the bite mark... Really, was that necessary? I was riveted though, and now I'm not sure which show I prefer... I guess I'll have to watch both ;)

So far Virtuality has not been pickwd up as a series...even tho I thought it was more interesting.

Virtuality will never be picked up, for all intent and purposes this is a slightly reworked Virtuality with a better story arc.

As much as I liked Virtuality, I like you think Defying Gravity has the better story.

As much as I respect Ronald D Moore I do have to admit that he completely fucked up the ending to Battlestar Galactica and as a result I am far happier that someone has came along and taken his new idea onto a different and far more realistic plane.

So anyone got any theories on where Beta comes from?

At the moment I can only speculate that it tries into Donner & Shaw's Mars mission somehow.

I'm not so sure, as Donner and Shaw would have known about it and not been kept in the dark.

Why would they know about it it if a creature obviously has mental powers.

Good episode and since they are now past the point on no return I assume we will be coming into the Venus stage of the mission next week so time for the rest of the crew to find out about Beta.

I never thought I would say this but this has to be the best Canadian show done it is very near as good as Regenisis but I have to wonder how much yank money is behind

Decided to check it out after reading this thread. I wasn't so sure to begin with but a few after watching a few episodes I was hooked. I must say it's an excellent show. Just finished watching this weeks episode "Bacon", another very good show.

This one proves that a sci fi show doesn't have to have expensive special effects and outrageous plots every episode.

I love the interaction and back stories of the characters. I do hope this one will be around for a while.

It's probably an Alien Artificial Intelligence but like a Bio computer or something. I'm liking it so far, good actors, good characters, writing is pretty good.

Could Beta be Donner and Barnes baby? Afterall his vasectomy didn't take....maybe he picked up some Mars DNA.

The astronauts are so spaced out mentally unbalanced in this series that none of them would have even got in the door at NASA.
I sure as heck don't know where they get their story line and information from but someone should go back to school and give the writters some elementary science lessons. It started good but last week was just plain stupid. Instead of the story line being solid and having a point to make, it wandered all over the place and never really came down to settle anywhere! I think we lost more than we gained and twenty minutes after the show it was hard to remember what happened.

You saying the nappy wearing, cross-state driving to shoot there astronaut fuck-buddy NASA people are more well balanced than these characters?

And yes they are characters, cheesy drama characters at that. Just because it's set in a relatively realistic sci-fi setting doesn't change that at all.

Yeah, well I guess that what should have warned us was the producers claim that it would be "Grey's Anatomy in space..." IMHO it's more Grey's than Anatomy, or Space for that matter, in the last episode

Now they are advertising candy in space, and they can't even do that without screwing up. Expensive candy bar!

ABC canceled Defying Gravity, so I guess we'll never know now.

Unfortunatley it is true. Defying gravity has been cancelled after only eight episodes, even though a further five have been completed.

I am really dissapointed. I looked forward to this show each week. I hope they will show the last five episodes at some point.

Also ABC still haven't cancelled this show, it was always meant to stop here for a few weeks.

According to several news articles on other sites ABC are to announce the cancelation soon.

Yet not a single one of those articles mentions a source, this is a net-storm story. Although it is probably going to get shitcanned.

As for the ratings, they never take in to account the other countries. This show is being aired in Canada, England, Germany and the US so why are they only looking at the US figures.

It's not easily accessible because it's airing on SPACE in Canada. It got dropped by the US station but that is all, and they put in a relatively small amount of cash so it may well continue on all the other networks.

The only relevant actions I can find iare "copy link to filegroup" and "add to favourires" - I try those on Defying Gravity 1x11 and it comes up "usenext:?t=bwEAjx." I see that space managed to screw up episode 13 of DG last night. They showed the first part twice and then you had gaps all the way through where commercials were supposed to go. How can a major station be so stupid and not realize what is going out to air. In all my days of working media Radio and TV, if we had ever done that we would be looking for new jobs!!

I hope they do, it got realy good towards the end, made me want to watch more of the show.

easy for them to screw up they are a Canadian own company and dont pay there ppl very well they are the lowest paying station out of all the major markets they arent even unionised they get ppl who have been fired from other stations for being incompetent
