ABC is making the remake of 1980s miniseries and its called 'V' (as visitors). Premiere is set for Jan 2010!

I just watched the trailer, OMG how good does this look. I cant wait to see this.

If I'm honest if you watch the 80's show now you will hate it the effects where well from the 80's but at the time as a kid this had me on the end of my seat.

i liked the original mini-series, but could not watch the follow-up series, it became too boring :(

The Visitors of ABC's V reboot have found their leader, and her face is familiar to sci-fi fans. Morena Baccarin (aka Firefly's Inara and Stargate SG-1's Adria) has landed the lead role of Anna, the frontwoman for Earth's very special guests, says the Hollywood Reporter. Previously announced V castings include Scott Wolf and Morris Chestnut.

Marc Singer Talks New V
Marc Singer, who played Mike Donovan in the first two V miniseries of the 1980s as well as the original V weekly series . When asked about the possibility of a cameo on ABC's new V, Singer responded positively. "Oh, sure. I think it would be fun to do a cameo," he said. "I think it would be fun to do more than a cameo and see where that leads us. The nice thing about a program like V is that it's open to all sorts of add-ons and interpretations. The possibilities are definitely there. I am certainly an admirer and friend of Kenneth Johnson, so it's possible that that sort of thing might actually occur."

Thanks, i watched Battlestar Galactica from 70's few months ago (after new one finished airing), and it was fun, but a little bit disappointing :)

Yes the new looks good and I am looking forward to it. The old one - I watched the whole series once but couldn't sit through it twice.

I have never watched V so i'll be seeing it as a new show and won't be affected by previous versions.

I believe Iceman is referring to the original V miniseries.

First there was:

V The Original miniseries (1983) had two episodes

Followed by:

V The Final Battle (1984) three episodes

Followed by:

V The Series (1984) nineteen episodes

If you look at the share tv episode guide you will see that all of the above are under one show lisitng but are seperated in to three categories.

Ok that was better than I could have possibly hoped, the tweaks they have made to the plot and the pacing of the show were superb. I think that is the best opening episode to a show I have ever seen.

I thought it was good, not great. but I was tired when I watched it so that may have affected me. Great cast!

After watching the original a few days ago and think I will looking forward to this new version.
The idea that the V's have been among us for a long time puts a new dimension to the whole story.

I liked the pilot and I'm very glad that they picked Morena Baccarin for role of Anna. Cant wait for next episode.
Its nice to have another SF show, now then there is no more BSG and Defying Gravity is canceled.

I watch the pilot episodes and i think that is good sf tv shaw, mostly because there is play my favorite actors Joel Gretsch (father Jack) from 'The 4400' and Elizabeth Mitchell (Erica) from 'Lost'.

I liked it, didn't love it though. I will still watch and see what happens.

I can't really say if I liked it or not. The concept is a good one, I just hope they can keep the momentum going without it seeming totally unrealistic. I've been watching Fringe and Flash Forward as well so this adds another element those do not (well sort of)

I was not really impressed they should reveal the plot at a steady pace not to quickly not too slowly V seems to have jumped right in it with no suspense at all, although ppl my age new what the basic plot was the younger generation relly did not, I think the producers of the show assumed that every one knew the basic plot. I am going to give it a few more episodes. before I give my final decision

I don't know the plot and I'm 40 - but then again, I didn't watch a lot of TV in my younger yrs or read for that matter, I was too busy partying. However, I did watch Party of 5 and I'm having a hard time seeing the news caster (can't remember the actor's name)in this role. I would have picked a taller, bigger more manly looking actor - something that's also really nice to look at and not bring me back to my 20's!!

I thought the pilot for the 2009 series was pretty good, although I found the 2nd episode to be a bit slow. Hopefully it picks up.
