Here's some news on season 4 I found at EZTV. Beware it does dontain spoilers.



When the Showtime hit returns next fall, six months will have lapsed on screen, leaving newlyweds Dexter (Michael C. Hall) and Rita (Julie Benz) the proud parents of a baby boy. "This season, we're going to deal with: Can a serial killer juggle a personal life, work, and his 'dark passenger'?" reveals executive producer Sara Colleton. "In other words, can Dexter have it all? Which is something all of us grapple with every day of our lives. So we're taking something that is a very human dilemma and putting it through the prism of Dexter's special needs."

Further complicating Dexter's intricate balancing act will be a new, as-yet-uncast male antagonist who will "cross paths with Dexter in a major, dramatic way," teases Colleton. "He will illuminate a lot about Dexter's life and force him to make some tough choices." (Word is they're looking for a "Jeff Daniels-type" to play the role.)

Meanwhile, Dex's plucky sister, Deb (played by Hall's real-life wife, Jennifer Carpenter), will unwittingly threaten to shed light on his dark secret. "All the way through the season, Deb -- in her need to know her father more -- is going to get closer and closer to figuring out who Dexter's mother was and her relationship with her father," says Colleton. So might the day come when Dex is forced to slice and dice her? "That is inconceivable to me," declares Colleton. "Deb and Dexter are the best brother-and-sister team ever."

looking forward to the return... as always. This is definitely one of my favorites.

Just found the pre-air leak. Going to watch it right now. Eztv is the effing bomb!

The pre-air was very interesting an it was one hell of a cliff hanger ending, can't wait for the season to kick off properly.

Holy crap! What a fantastic season opening episode.

OUTSTANDING!: Play on the episode's opening credits(much like season 2 episode 12, but funnier), actor for the new season's killer, relationship between two established cast members, Deb's digging, re-appearance of an old cast member, and, as uncertaingod said, "one hell of a cliff hanger ending."

This one has it all. If the writers and producers keep up the pace, this season could be the best one yet.

In my opinion, season 3 was a bit of a let down from season 2, but this one is set up to NOT disappoint!

I think I might wait to watch the season opener until it releases in HD... but I don't know if I can...

It air on 27 sep, I saw some promos on youtube and a kid also play an important role in this season.

Yep good start. I think the writers have done an excellent job again. I keep thinking this show can't stay this good, and although it has dipped here and there, it is still excellent.

what an ending

great show happy to see it back

felt a bit let down by this episode , i was so shocked at the end of last weeks but this felt like a bit of an anti-climax.

It seems like everyone is pairing off at the station. It is kinda weird. I think Rita is gonna think Dexter is the cause of the neighborhoods problems after the last episode. But he could probably blame the head injury. It is kinda getting corny.

I thought the episode was okay. Curious to see how Dexter explains things to Rita. He is really getting careless...

I think he just needs some sleep.

I agree w/ zandarblade about it being weird that everyone at the station is "pairing off." Sometimes in the past it was more like "Sexter" than Dexter. But at least then there was more gratuitous nudity. The cliff hanger ending from the 10/18 episode brings promise, but overall, this season's been pretty meh so far.

Well in real life she is dating Michael C. Hall. Now that is funny, but true.

Wow that was fast. For most people it takes more than a few years before they even think of marriage.

They had been shagging for over 3 and a half years, if your ever going to think of marriage you would have done by then.

yeah and they were working together and dating. That's a lot of time getting to know someone...

Tonight's episode was revealing, and worked on so many levels. Worthy of great praise. I think Laguerta should be transferred, and Batista should be promoted and put in charge of homicide. But that is just what I think.

It is interesting isn't it. Dexter plays cop who is really a murderer, and in this episode really plays cop so he can be a murderer to someone who is more like himself than he realized. Pretty good twist. I'm still a little ambivalent about this season so far, but the apartment twist was good. It's always difficult to keep our "private lives" from unraveling.

Also, I agree with newlinux from an episode ago. That cop chick was HAWT! And they really played up the sexual tension that never happened (the bathroom scene in the gas station). I think her and Dexter could have made some sweet "blood" together =D. Oh well.

i was just watching this weeks episode and thinking, the opening credits haven't been updated they still sjhow him as a single man leaving his old apartment and then we find out he still has the apartment.!!!

You obviously haven't been paying much attention to the season he's been going back and forth to the apartment plenty.

r u sure ? this weeks episode is the first one i noticed , the others all seemed centered on his new house/neighbourhood watch storyline. I did think that his bloodslides were now behind a grill in his study in his new house. Maybe you're just more observant than most lol.

Yep windsorboyd, he mentions keeping the apartment in the first or second episode, and has been back a few times. Not to mention in the previous episode before this latest one, Harry appears to him at the old apt. and, after seeing the dripping faucet says "you better get that leak fixed, you don't want this place going to hel*." Then the pipe breaks in this latest episode, and outs Dexter's secret pad.

Btw, regarding this week's ep. I loved the line when he's talking to Rita in the old apt. "See I have nothing to hide." And then the internal monologue: "Except for the scalpel, syringes, and bone saw in the secret compartment underneath." Just priceless! =D

dexter season 4 is rocking.

This latest episode was definitely one of the most cerebral I've ever seen. Lots of plot twists to think about.

There's not a lot of "action," but I think I'm finally starting to like where this season's going.

Yep, I'm liking it, not the best season (hard to beat a couple of the earlier seasons) but I do like the plot and evolution of storylines and characters

Yes it is getting better. I like the fact that Debra is getting closer to the truth.

@ zandarblade: Exactly. Maintaining secrecy is a continuing problem for Dex. Especially when it comes to prying family eyes. You can almost smell a possible series finale when Dexter may have to decide between his "dark passenger" and Debra, or maybe even Rita. His brother already tried to get him to choose, and failed. It will be interesting to see where it goes.

I totally love this show, I'd say by far its the best one out there. The writers do such an awesome job, I mean you can never get bored watching this show. What will we do when it does finally end?? I hope he dies rather than end up in prison and rot or an execution - wow, just thinking about how it will end keeps one intriged!

This weeks episode had some perfect moments, like when he saved the picture and said he wouldn't let her be cut up again. Brilliant.

oh dexter what have you done!!!!, excellent episode will this comw back to haunt him, if he can put it behind him that might not be good. Agree about the non shredding if deb finds it .... what then ??

The picture was an interesting twist, and could come up again. But that's part of the fun, you don't know what seems like it's going to matter, and what won't. Personally, I'm still pissed about them showing Deb going to the airport at the cliffhanger of season 2, and then nothing more about her and Lundy till this season. WTF was that? Why even bother having something "hang" and then not even address it till a whole season later? *sigh*

Anyway, I think the teaser for next week's ep. looked really good. Like he did with Miguel, Dex just can't help but make friends with the wrong people, even if he knows he has to kill them in the end. His trying to "learn" from Trinity in spite of Harry's promptings to "kill him now Dexter" is a good way to build suspense and tension.

I also like how they're trying to play up the tension with him and Quinn. Could he be the new Doakes? I thought the club scene was priceless. Dexter to the model: "Do you know who that is? That's Quinn!" lol. Anything to play up the tension of Dexter always having to be one step ahead of everyone.

I liked the twist of "who shot Deb?" And what's up w/ the neighbor and Rita? That dude doesn't know who he's messing with. Overall the ep. didn't live up to the teaser hype. But I guess they always have to drag out that season's killer to the very end. And what will trinity do now that he's out of ashes? Stop killing? Hmmmm.

Yep. Things are interesting. The deb/lundy shooting storyline took me by surprise...

So who shot Deb. I'm thinking sice Lundy died and Deb was left alive it may be someone she knows. Someone who wanted Lundy out of the way and may even have shot Deb by accident. What Height is Anton?

@ tash: I read the first book "Darkly dreaming Dexter" that started it all. There were very few differences between it and the first season. Having known the show, it was actually kind of a disappointment. Believe it or not, (which usually isn't the case) I can actually say the show was better than the book. I'll probably read any others eventually.

As far as the who shot Deb mystery: I think it would be quite a shock for the shooter to actually BE Masuka, but would be an interesting way to write him out of the script if he had to leave the show. The only other character they've introduced this season I could think of is the reporter chick. I think she's about the same height as Masuka. Then again maybe it's Quinn on his kness? His character has taken a turn this season. Hmmmmm.

@ rooboy69. I also thought about him as a possibility. If that is the case then it would open up a whole other can of worms. Meaning he knows at least something about his dad's outside "work," and was trying to protect him.

A fantastic episode! As more secrets are revealed, and the plots (and sub plots) continue to unfold, the rising action becomes more and more exciting! This is why Dexter is still my #1 show. It continues to be so well done, always bring surprises, and while it can take time for things to be revealed, it never disappoints in the end.
