Soo, I was kinda bored and was checking out the page of BSG at sharetv.org and I saw the special announcement:
"Special Announcement: SCI FI Channel announced two-hour TV movie, Battlestar Galactica: THE PLAN, which will air in June 2009."

Sounds good! Any info about it yet?

Sci Fi is gearing up for the two-hour event which provides as the extension of the series in Fall. Set as a TV movie, "Battlestar Galactica: The Plan" will revolve around the plan when Cylons are operating on board the Cylon ships before and after the attack.

"The Plan" is directed by series star Edward James Olmos and written by series writer Jane Espenson. Official synopsis has not been disclosed but Kate Vernon who plays the final Cylon, Ellen Tigh, said that she is involved in it and gave a little bit of the frame.

She explained to NY Post, "You'll definitely have a few 'ah ha' moments. But there's a big chunk of what's been happening on the show that this movie will show the moments right before. You'll get a big piece of the puzzle from 'The Plan. It'll just slide right into focus. The movie will open up the show for fans in a big way, because there's a giant piece missing and this will show you the bigger picture."

Apart from having "The Plan", "Battlestar" continues its legacy with "Caprica" which is set 50 years earlier. "Caprica" will tell the story of how humanity first created the robotic Cylons, who would later plot to destroy human civilization. It is picked up by Sci Fi again, and is expected to be premiered in early 2010.

Really hope they also make a movie of some sort which will actually show the events of how it worked before 'thousands' years ago with ellen tigh etc. Because 1 episode explained a lot, but it was a big chunk of information all of the sudden and it was all told and not really shown. Would be nice to see it, although it wouldn't really fit in the usual drama part of bsg, as it would need all new characters and such.

From what little has been revealed thus far this special movie event takes a look at the Cylon point of view on things.

“The events of The Plan are the events that you’ve seen … in the show, from the miniseries to almost the end of season two,”

The Plan obviously refers to the plan mentioned at the beginning of each episode of the series. The movie promises to shed light on some of the series mythology, especially when it concerns the Cylons. “If you had a copy now, you might feel that you could go ahead and watch it, because it’s about stuff that already happened,” Espenson said. “But don’t do it. Of course, you don’t have a copy now, because there isn’t even a cut yet. … But it’s very much designed to be watched after the run of the series, because it definitely relies on stuff you don’t learn until much later.”
