I have just been reading that the BBC is re-doing the 1970's Scifi series The Survivors and it is due to be aired late autumn 2008.

Imagine being the only survivor of a disease that kills every member of your family, that kills lovers, strangers & friends, in fact, nearly everyone you've ever met. You are among the lonely few to live and now you must start over in a strange new world where everything that was once safe and familiar is now strange and dangerous.

Set in the present day, the drama series focuses on the world in the aftermath of a devastating virus which wipes out most of the world's population. What would we do? How would any of us cope in a brave, new world where all traditional 21st century comforts, electricity, clean running water & advanced technology have disappeared?

These are the questions faced by the bewildered but resilient group of survivors at the centre of the drama. It is an opportunity for new beginnings, but with no society, no police and no law and order. They now face terrible dangers,not just the daily struggle for food and water but also the deadly threat from other survivors.



Survivors is a re-imagining of the classic Seventies BBC drama series, based on the novel by Terry Nation.

The BBC Press Office has confirmed that the first two episodes of the new series of Survivors will be broadcast on BBC1 between 22-28 November 2008.

It definitely looks like it could be one of the best new series of the year.
I will certainly be watching the first episode.

i liked the original, i think i even got the book from the schools bookclub

First episode tonight,although the trailer hasn't filled me with enthusiasm,but still,there is the gorgeous Freema Agyeman from Dr Who ;-)

Well second episode viewed and I must admit that I like a lot, just one thing, that happened to Freema Agyeman, was that all we get to see of her?????

Well It looks Like Freema Agyeman was only in the show for the one episode. What gets me is that the BBC made a big thing of the face she was in the show.

It's been a good show, looking forward to next weeks finale.

No way did that look like a finale. It left way too many things up in the air. I'm just wondering when they are going to finish it off or just leave it hanging? Is the Beeb starting to act like Fox....I hope not!

survivors has been given the go-ahead for a second season.

Is this show going to return? and is it worth watching?

It's about time they got the green light.

It was filmed in july so I'd expect it to air pretty damn soon.

I saw an add for it on BBC Canada yesterday and it said something about it airing this month but don't know if its reruns or the new episodes.

Yes worth watching and the BBC always hedge their bets by making the ending of each season capable of being the end of the series if they were to decide not to continue.

Been talking to a few friends and it looks like it's either going to be back at the very begining of Nov or it will be put off until the end of Jan.
