I like the concept and I'm going to give this one a try, even though the preview clip I saw was a little weak, but certainly worth a look...

My opinion its v.v.good and will no doubt be a hit.

He's not a psychic he's just very good at reading peoples
emotions together with terrific observational skills.

What a great surprise this is... you know how sometimes the clips you see are the only good part of a show? well, it's just the opposite here... The full episode is much better than the clip(s) that have been distributed around. Wow! Both Appara (Psych fans will know) and Quark are right about this. It is well put together, interesting without being too flashy, and I'm enjoying the dynamic between both the actors and the characters they play.

Not a bad show. Not the best but not the worst. Certainly watchable on a Tuesday night and I enjoy it.

This show has been given an order for a full season,I've watched the first couple of episodes,its fairly watchable,it'll be interesting to see how it progresses.

It's interesting enough. I'd like the rest of the team to support him (Jane, the title character) a bit more. That seems to be growing as the season settles in.

Well I quite enjoy this show,I wonder when they will start to use his family's killer as a plot in the show.

This episode failed to uphold the good standards that have been set this season,but it is a good show overall...

I have to agree this show started well, but seems to be grinding to a slow halt. I cant see them getting another season

@bigrich It's doing very well in the ratings,which will guarantee it another season,if it hasn't already.

i am really enjoying Mentalist, but i don't know what it is with this years batch of shows?...the female leads just don't seem to fit into the starring roles in any of them. but, i too hope there is a season 2 for simon baker!

this show has got to be one of the best on the box at the moment

The latest episode was enjoyable & Det. Cho was very good.

I think they need to adjust Det. Rigsby's character,he is becoming a character to be laughed at & it is becoming harder to accept him as an intelligent or respected police officer.

crimson casanova was my fave episode so far, and Cho was lol funny!

I agree that Rigsby's character is becoming stereotypical of the clueless male, but I'm not sure that this necessarily means it needs adjusting.

A good show usually has a reasonable spread of characterisations. We don't want them all to become identikit copies of some standard detective role model, and Rigsby leavens the team. He's a little bit in the same position as Jayne in "Firefly", the guy who wouldn't recognise a finer feeling if it bit him.

@wizz, if rigsby's character continues down the path of the clueless male he cannot be taken seriously as a police officer in his position.
Good shows with good writers can create intelligent characters & still make them funny without making them look stupid.

Although I like the show,the murderer is becoming more easier to spot,they start off with a few red herrings whilst casually slipping the murderer into the plot usually in the guise of a bit part player.

Yeah - it's becoming formulaic.

Rigsby seemed a mite more intelligent this time - maybe the scriptwriters heard you :-)

I really enjoyed it. I am a fan of crime-investigation series, like CSI and stuff. And this just goes in with them.
Jane is really funny, and is a really great character, which makes the show really cool.
I like the new idea also, its new, and its inventive.
So i really enjoy it and cant wait for more :D

I still think they should ruffle Janes feathers a bit.

@softwizz What would you do in his position,live in the comfort zone as he is doing or be hell bent on finding the person responsible.
Even introducing the scenario of his loss seems fruitless if they are not going to use the storyline,lets face it,if they had left out that scenario it wouldn't have altered this show at all.

Start a new season! The Mentalist just continue where that stop. Jane is the same - handsome, clever and irresistible. And Red John is maybe near by we think.

It was a good start to the new season,the first scene was very funny.

So far this season is turning out to be just as good as the first. I love the way Jane keeps messing with the Agent they turned the Red John case over to.

No Mentalist this week :-[

At least the showed a good re-run. the Mob episode was my favorite from the first season.
