This could be real good, reminds ,e of the X-files with out the aliens.

This thing is heavily influenced by Alias, another show of JJ's. Looks like it might be decent and it will be very good if both this, dollhouse and Sarah Connor get long runs as FOX plan to finish one, then start the other so all year round there will be good sci-fi :)

Pilot was impressive though I have my doubts about the main character, she seemed a bit to dull to hold down a show like this.
Excellent opening though.

It seems very much like a grown up version of Alias with a extra helping of gore.

Fringe is fantastic! It will be a hit!
It has good acting, good plot, good writing and a wonderful cut edition that gives a fast track to the scenes and the plot it self has a range of possibilities opened. A mix of the movie "The Cell" (with Jennifer Lopes and Vince Vaughn) with "Alias" and "X Files"!

I finally got around to watching the pilot and I enjoyed it. They have presented the female lead, Aussie Anna Torv, as rather naive, but I'm hoping that she establishes some credibility for herself (both the actress and the character) - she was a bit of a weak link, I thought... Nicely quirky, dark humor and plenty of subterfuge from JJ, as usual...

I felt exactly the opposite about her. I felt she got the character. This character is very good in her profession, a bit of strong head, athletic, at same time feminine and with a soft side that give to men the desire to load her in their arms.
I think that in a few episodes we will see this actress more bound to her character.

I think the lead actress played the role accurately,she was coming from a position of vulnerability because of her involvement with her injured colleague.She would never be offered the role of heading up a new taskforce if she was innocent and/or gullible(even in the fantasy world of tv).
Then again I could be wrong & maybe naive to think scriptwriters are as intelligent as the members of sharetv...
However, I did enjoy the show & it will be interesting to see how the characters are portrayed in future episodes.

I think JJ is setting up a classic naive, somewhat uninitiated, by-the-book (but not stupid) character who others (higher ups - government & corporate) will try to keep in the dark as much as possible while attempting to capitalize on her newly developed relationship with Bishop. Pick your metaphor, chess, poker, whatever - I think it will be a high-stakes game, where each episode has us guessing as to how much the other players know, and far they are willing to go to keep things secret.

I think this is where they will develop Torv's character so that she becomes more interesting...

well now, i too would like to see a couple of these shows appear a little earlier on the schedule (or even have an air date listed)...and i Have noticed that when kolbi asks for a certain character to have more air time, or for something in a show to improve, she does seem to have a little pull...???? rofl!

This show is like a cross between the X-files and Alias. It was well worth the wait. And it can only get better.

Have just downloaded and watched the pilot -- looks promising. Looks like they have been watching Heroes for the onscreen location titles ! Sky here in the UK are going to be showing the series starting in October.

It was a disappointment and unless it picks up I can see FOX canning it but with the delay in Dollhouse's shooting schedule they will have nothing to replace it with.

I believe your just mad there wasn't nudity, and if that is the case you should probably stick with HBO, Showtime and FX shows.

I thought it was pretty good. Just enough mystery to keep you interested. Also it seems like a good cast.

Liked the cast and the way the show moved,interesting concept start out with horror,then crime scene mystery and detection,add a mad scientist and a conspiracy develops,all the while there is enough drama to satisfy that angle.Complex yet very easy to follow.Keeping a close watch on this one.I only pick one or two shows a season to follow,this might be one.

Last nights episode was so so.Shock value minimal.
The mad scientist is my favorite.

Don't think this is going to have the legs to last, the new episode wasn't any better and it's rating's are poor.

Lead actress was weak,If this was the pilot I would've kicked it into touch,I'll give it another week.

I watched it with the hubs. It wasn't that great this week, ok that happens. They betta bring it on or else da party's over.

John Doe was excellent just starting to get into what was happening and they ditched it I will give fringe another few episodes then take it off my list no chemistry between actors needs a recast and rewrite

I think it is cast very well. Maybe they could have done a better job casting the boss, but beyond that they seem to mesh.

I agree the cast is great. people need to give the show a chance, after all it has only just begun.

I'm thinking the storyline in the last episode was week and predictable,not very original,did the writer find something better to do? The first episode I had that LOST feeling,where did it go?

So far I've got to say this show is ok, but it's no regenesis. I like the international feel of regenesis, they would go all over the world and the stuff they solved was more than just a single serial killer, they were fixing environmental disasters etc... Loved that. But Fringe is something to watch so I watch, it's not too bad.

I think the main female is suppose to be that way. Remember she is stepping into a world, that up to a few weeks ago, she knew nothing about. There is alot she knows is going on and so much more that she is clueless about. It is not that she is dumb. I thinks she plays the let me think about this...try to process this...role very well. I think given a chance as the story lines progress that she will become a more well rounded character.

Well, I am very suspicous of Massive Dynamics. I do believe they are behind the Patern. It is clear they know too much about what is going on.

I was thinking that too, but they always seem to be a string or 2 away from actually being involved directly.

Every thriller/sci fi type series in the US seems to have a government with branches that don't share information or trust each other(Begins to make you wonder if it's this fragmented in reality)& huge businesses that are a law unto themselves.

The show has been picked up for the back 9 episodes so it must be doing something right or else JJ gives some seriously good head.

Well the last episode was pretty weird. What is with the bald guy who watches and has no taste buds? It seems to have an X-files feel to it so far. Unexplained objects, alien like characters, and people who are nobody's who also know too much.

two weeks before the next one. not sure where its going but its a bit lost, x files typeish. why do the "aliens " wear the suit?.
but i still like it.

Hey Guys I just made that story line up from what I had seen already, but some of those facts seem to be panning out. It appears that each episode is a stand alone story like the x-files but then there is that alien thread running through all the stories called the patern, and the conspiracy theory with Dynamics. I guess the writers figure if this system worked for x-files it will also work for them. I find the episodes interesting even viewed seperatly. Once you have a whole season then you have to have a night of viewing all the episodes together to make the "patern" come out. ;-)

We've given up on this one. The acting isn't good enough and the main character just doesn't have the chops. There's a lot of promise here, but it's not panning out.

It's entertaining -- that's all -- if we don't like it so we've
got the option of turning it off and switching to something else.
It's not Shakespeare we're watching being performed. Not everyone has the same 'taste' so to speak ... so some will love this program and others will not and that is fine.

I cant wait to learn more about Peter. I find his character the most interesting. What was his past. What does his father mean when he says Peter is special and that he doesn't realise his full potential.

Brilliant show. Love the science. Wish Walter Bishop (in his current mind state) was my teacher for science.

Can't wait till next weeks episode. Walter did say he experimented with Peter when he was younger.

i wondered about william bell, we haven't seen him i did start to speculate that he and walter could be the same person.

It's a blank canvas, and maybe a misleading blank canvas. Maybe there have been some clues about him that are misleading, and I think that's part of the fun of the show.

Are you open to doing more than three episodes?
Yes, I am, depending on how much fun we have. It's got to be fun for me these days, otherwise why bother? I had a terrific time doing what we already did, and I like (cocreators Abrams, Roberto Orci, and Alex Kurtzman) a lot. I like the possibility of this character. I'm excited for the first time in a long time.

I kind of saw it coming with Peter during the episode, but didn't think that before. Can't wait to learn more about that.

So when Obama moved into the NEW White House (headline in the newspaper on William Bells desk) that must mean that the terrorists got the WH in that reality instead of the WTC. This is getting good now just keep the story lines on track and we will have a good running series.

Kirk Acevedo who plays charlie will not be returning next season after his option for renewal was not picked up. He was sso dissapointed that he made a comment on his social networking site that he had been fired. This is of course untrue as his contract had expired and was not renewed.

Perhaps when Peter got ill in this world and died, his dad went to the other side and took him.

I think that is one of the more obvious aspects of the show.

Maybe that is why Walter seems so crazy.

Why aren't they airing the episodes on a regular basis? It seems like it's every two weeks or more. Is this show going to get cancelled?

No its not cancelled just mid term break. A lot of shows do it this way Bones and NCIS are two others.

It will be too bad if it gets cancelled, but I wouldn't be surprised. What's wrong with these producers?? If they want a good following, they need to be consistent and air them frequently, along with keeping the plot interesting. I've seen so many shows die because of stupid airing schedules, people lose interest.
