I found this in wikipedia. It seems genuine but cannot as yet find the premiere airing date confirmed by the BBC

Spooks: Liberty
Following the success of the BBC Three Doctor Who spin-off series Torchwood the controller of BBC Three, Julian Bellamy, has announced a Spooks spin-off, Spooks: Liberty (working title - Rogue Spooks).[12][13] The series will feature a unit of young MI5 recruits who follow a different rule book to the main agency. Spooks: Liberty is, like its predecessor, created by David Wolstencroft, and developed by the same team at production company Kudos. Spooks: Liberty was intended to have been broadcast late 2007 but has been pushed back to early 2008

excellent news, the last series of spooks was one of the best they have done.

Now *there* is a blessed holiday gift! Am just getting finished on series 4, have most of series six just leaving series five which comes out on DVD in a few weeks...brilliant show!

sounds like a show that would appeal to me, as i do like people with good manners lol....thanks quark, this has passed me by, and with everything going into repeats or reality, i appreciate finding a new (to me)good series...specially when i see that i have a few years to catch up on. looks like i might have a hard time finding early seasons...on the hunt now

This is a great show and you don't HAVE to follow it from the start (in my opinion), there were a number of cast member changes after the first few seasons (year 4 is a new cast).

If you can find 1-3, you might want to watch them in order because the characters do become closer as they work together and their friendships and loyalties to each other (on and off the job) are tested...

And season 1 was superb.

the xmas tvtorrentgods are smiling on me...i found the whole thing (32gb)season1-5 in one shot, coming in very slowly so it will be a while till i get to view it...but that will give me time catch up to what is already on my puter. happy holidays to you all

Appara; you will not be disappointed. I have no idea how this compares with The Unit having not seen that but we are 24 fans (minus Kim) and enjoy this one a great deal. Smart, witty in the right places, grim in the right places. Once we got bit by the bug we got seasons 1-4 on Netflix (had the whole thing in < 2 weeks). The multitude of special features on at least the first three seasons make this worth it.

Watch the earliest whilst d/l the rest but do watch them in episode order. Make a folder to hold later season downloads until ready to view.

Just wanted to say this series is well worth watching. Thanks quark for starting this timely thread, and all others with the recommendations. (good idea about the folder...thats where all other shows are sitting now until i am caught up on all seasons of spooks lol)

imdb is saying that spooks season7 is going to start in october!!

...i got quite addicted to this one....i am starting to get the dt's though...i watched all six seasons in a row...and then.....the long wait for news on season7...i really hope this info is correct!

I was watching a three weeks ago and saw an episode where they were going to crash two aircraft over London,as part of a political coop. Also this is the episode that Collin Wells was captured and hung in. This was the first part of a 2 parter and I missed the second part. Does anyone know what season and episode numbers these were?

Good to have the "true" Spooks back after that dross that was Code 9 and the story arc for this season seems particularly interesting after having watched the first 2 episodes of season 7, both of which have been released by RiVER.

Great first two episodes it can only get better. Thank the BBC for its return...true drama and suspense the only way the BBC can do it.

Just finished watching Episode 3, a great story and it kept the pace right up there.

Spooks seems to be excelling themselves with kill offs this season. The story lines keep getting better each week and I also notice that they seem to be keeping up with international events in the real world, this has the effect of making the story lines that much more interesting and believable. Hope this runs for more seasons.

They have perfected the formula this season and keeping all the events around one intertwining story arc is working beautifully.

Now that last episode was just dam good. I felt it was as good as if not better than the latest James Bond movie. They certainly pulled out all stops with this one, some really good plot twists to.

This series of Spooks was easily the best they have done and yes better than the QoS as this actually had a story.

Anyone have current information for the next season of Spooks?

Latest is that it is a returning series but dates etc., sorry.

Spooks season 8 started off with a typical BBC well made episode last night. All the regulars and more. If this keeps up it will be a bonus season. Maybe the time to go out with a bang when you are at the top of the pile.

Brilliant opener setting up what could be a very involved story, I'm getting the feeling the new CIA liaison is going to be a mega-bitch.
