Dollshouse is a new series writen by Joss Wheedon and directed by the same person that made Firefly such a big hit. This from the grapevine will post more as I find out. Have to keep my ear to the ground.
Whedon's new Fox series, called Dollhouse, stars Miss Eliza Dushku, best known as Faith to you Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans. And this show isn't just a pilot. It's already been given a seven-episode commitment by Fox. Woo!
Echo (Eliza Dushku) [is] a young woman who is literally everybody's fantasy. She is one of a group of men and women who can be imprinted with personality packages, including memories, skills, language—even muscle memory—for different assignments. The assignments can be romantic, adventurous, outlandish, uplifting, sexual and/or very illegal. When not imprinted with a personality package, Echo and the others are basically mind-wiped, living like children in a futuristic dorm/lab dubbed the Dollhouse, with no memory of their assignments—or of much else. The show revolves around the childlike Echo's burgeoning self-awareness, and her desire to know who she was before, a desire that begins to seep into her various imprinted personalities and puts her in danger both in the field and in the closely monitored confines of the Dollhouse.
So I guess this is one for all you Buffy and Angel lovers out there.
It does sound like a cool show, I am all for anything that can resurrect the career of Eliza Dushku after the awful train wreak that was Tru Calling.
Yeah this is sounding as if it might be alittle bit intresting. I like Eliza!!! Any word on when it is starting?....
It will start shooting a couple of weeks after the strike ends.
If the strike starts, let's see some optimism people!
=)
Honestly, the most intriguing thing about this show is the fact that it came from the mind of GOD... erm, joss wheadon to most people.... honetly, that man can do nothing wrong... well, except for the original buffy movie ^.^ but hey, what doesn't kill us.... thank god it didn't kill him, 'cause without buffy and firefly (and lets not forget angel* life just wouldn't be the same
From the writeup it sounds like an interesting show...maybe a little like 'the pretender'?. If it does well it sounds like we might get 22 episodes, but for now 7. Will definitely keep an open mind on this one, looking forward to its release...maybe early spring?
