Hey Mates does anyone know when the new season of torchwood will be starting been checking the bbc site but nothing yet thanks |
Oct 20, 2007 8:21PM |
Hi captsheridan, I too would like to know when the new series of Torchwood will begin. The first series was very good indeeed. |
Oct 21, 2007 1:52AM |
So far as I know its due to start around 12th January 2008 |
Oct 21, 2007 6:26AM |
I can confirm also confirm that it is scheduled to premiere at the beginning of January |
Oct 21, 2007 9:08AM |
Thats great! I love this show. It can be...a little cheesy at times, which I always cringe at while watching. Although, as I write this now, I'm thinking to myself "it's a freaking sci-fi, it's MEANT to be like that!". Anyway, Thanks for that date rejexx200, I shall be waiting for S2 :) |
Oct 21, 2007 10:54AM |
cheers mates |
Oct 21, 2007 11:41AM |
ye its airing in january some time no exact date yet however |
Oct 21, 2007 6:03PM |
I think its funny when the American guy uses British pronunciation instead of American with some words |
Oct 21, 2007 7:30PM |
@curious you mean captain jack? I haven't noticed that. then again.. I don't really have any idea, I'm not sure about the differences in pronunciation anyway |
Oct 22, 2007 12:51PM |
i used to love watching this..it was like a grown up Doctor Who... i love Captain Jack...i feel really sorry for him though because he lives forever he has to watch the people around him amd the people he loves die. |
Oct 22, 2007 10:39PM |
I should be so sad! Think of all the extra nice experiences/memories (and the bad I suppose). |
Oct 23, 2007 12:00AM |
@quark; and all the future tv programs to check out! |
Oct 23, 2007 12:48AM |
did u no guys that guy outta bufy is gona be in torchwood series 2. sorry ive forgot his name but he was one of the evil ones |
Oct 23, 2007 1:33AM |
yeah Capt. Jacks a whiner he hasn't even lived that long yet just a little over a hundred and he still has his looks and his continence (and apparently his Bi-Sexuality too) @aus5543 it would be a little harder for you to notice that since your AU but it's there |
Oct 23, 2007 1:45AM |
yea, In aus obviously we... are "based on" england alot, just because they founded us, i mean who cares, it was like 200 years ago anyway :P but America is more constantly influencing us now, all the pop culture and stuff. We're a very mixed nation |
Oct 23, 2007 2:25AM |
OH NO!! save yourself and your people while there's still time!! American Influence is absolutely horrid unless you want all you 12 year old daughters to get knocked up while they are engulfed by Fast Food bodily degradation! You should take your Vegemite sandwiches and Run for the hills!! |
Oct 23, 2007 8:27AM |
1 for the vegemite, I may do that anyway. seriously though. literally, completely true, It's on the news quite regularly now, 12 year olds getting knocked up. I was walking around town the other day, saw some high schooler (grade 9 or ten probably) with three phones, txting or playing games with one, talking on another and then the third swinging from her neck as she walked along the footpath in heels that she'd obviously kept in her bag until school was finished... |
Oct 23, 2007 1:01PM |
@curious's "OH NO!! save yourself and your people while there's still time!" Being in Florida we BOTH know idiocracy is coming. Every chick is pregnant with 3 kids at home, by age 30!! I have never seen as many pregnant chicks than I have since moving to FL! *chicks referring to young women (often with a "tramp stamp"- tattoo on the small of the back) it's funny and scary |
Oct 23, 2007 2:04PM |
@baretryst Where in Florida? I'm in Ocala. |
Oct 23, 2007 2:08PM |
OOPS had not read updated where are you from yet. Your just a hop and skip away. |
Oct 23, 2007 2:27PM |
Yes, I always knew that most people were mindless clones created on an assembly line by giant corporate conglomerates... They all where labels on their backs to prove it: "Made in USA" with that ever popular butterfly logo... They are multiplying at alarming rates and are more dangerous than the Replicators, because they all qualify for Social Security!!! 8O |
Oct 23, 2007 2:54PM |
yeahpp... My label/tattoo is a scorpion right above my 'rack'- well that's my most "trampy" tat (although I once considered getting a naked fairy *anime style* spread eagle and masturbating as a true tramp-stamp- but I'm a special kinda girl. (not classy enough to breed I suppose) HA! and OMG!! Ocala, wow so.. what do you do THERE? *for amusement? |
Oct 23, 2007 3:38PM |
Last time I was in Ocala I got lost in the forest in the middle of the night with a cube of sugar in my belly ;D |
Oct 23, 2007 3:43PM |

@drdubai you are getting really annoying. go check your message board. |
Oct 28, 2007 6:31PM |
@jszing As a moderator can you do anything to stop this idiot (drdubai) continually ruining threads with one word inanities. |
Oct 28, 2007 6:42PM |
:) all i could think of just then was jszing replying with "no". that would've made my day. I don't think mods can do that though quark, I've seen it mentioned before |
Oct 28, 2007 6:56PM |
one would think so quark but you and i both know what we are talking about. if you get my drift cheers mate |
Oct 30, 2007 9:38PM |
Late breaking news Captain Jack marries Sarah Jane.... Both great Dr Who spin offs. |
Oct 30, 2007 11:07PM |

Oct 31, 2007 8:13PM |
Torchwood and Dr who are Approx Hour long shows but Sarah Jane Adventures is half that. SJA comes on CBBC so my guess is that it's shorter due to the short attention span of kids ;D |
Oct 31, 2007 8:16PM |
sara jane is a 30 min show mate thought you were talking about torchwood cheers |
Oct 31, 2007 8:28PM |
@NIP Can anyone confirm what I heard about John Barrowman that he actually does swing the other way? If so the love angle between Capt Jack and the Policewoman Sarah will ring rather hollow will it not? |
Oct 31, 2007 8:38PM |
army lol |
Oct 31, 2007 8:48PM |
@quark I'm not catching on to "@NIP". Give up now. :P |
Nov 1, 2007 8:57AM |
@Nobody in Particular Simple in't it? |
Nov 1, 2007 9:02AM |
Hey did you know Torchwood is an anagram of Doctor Who, just a useless piece of info lol. |
Nov 1, 2007 10:53AM |
@quark, john barrowman swings both ways. |
Nov 1, 2007 11:23AM |
I thought he was outright gay seems I read something about it or it was a one of those ET shows pam |
Nov 1, 2007 4:17PM |
Oops my mistake john, You're correct. My apologies to quark too. crikey its a good job barrowman isn't a member on here or I'd be apologising to him as well. |
Nov 1, 2007 5:35PM |
@rejexx200 How do you know he's not? LOL |
Nov 1, 2007 5:45PM |
You're right. Torch Wood is an anagram for Doctor Who. Got it at Wordsmith.org And yes, the guy that plays Jack Harkness is gay. |
Nov 2, 2007 11:13AM |
Actually that is great info @sebmcc Something I never noticed but makes sence. It is a great show I am about half way through season one and I love it. |
Nov 2, 2007 4:25PM |
Well the actor is gay. The character is Polysexual |
Nov 2, 2007 6:40PM |
Well they're all cool with me. There's nothing wrong with being gay people!! stop gay and poly bashing and also stop bashing Polly cuz he wants a freakin cracker. Everyone should allow gays to marry too cuz the more married gays there are the less pathetic faghags we'll see with them instead they'll get a clue and go out and find a straight man who will hopefully convince them to get rid of all there thousands of cats(C'mon already, how many cats do you need!!) Vote YES for Gays and Gay Marriage Vote NO for Crazy Cat Lovin' FagHags. |
Nov 2, 2007 6:42PM |
I'm not a gay but I play one on TV's General Hospital(who doesn't X]) |
Nov 3, 2007 2:04PM |
@sebmcc Tell me what are the third and fourth etc., sexes(lol) I thought humaans only had Two! @Curiousandroid Live and let live says this Ferengee. I don't care about a persons sexuality as long as they are a good customer! |
Nov 3, 2007 9:13PM |
Yes, "humans" have only two sexes, however Jack Harkness was tappin that alien booty too. |
Nov 3, 2007 9:36PM |
sex is a relative term but sex with relatives is Flerm |
Nov 3, 2007 9:51PM |
flerm? |
Nov 4, 2007 1:12AM |
Flerm is such an awesome word isn't it |
Nov 4, 2007 3:56AM |
NO I much prefer blergh or flargh they have such a nice ring to them |
Nov 4, 2007 6:25PM |
Agreed. blergh is much better. Court Adjourned |
Nov 5, 2007 10:07PM |
nah I think that most people prefer Flerm to Blergh mostly because Flerm doesn't sound as gay, but I also took a survey of gay men and women who thought that Flargh was, and I quote: "The Bee's Knees" end quote, Semicolon;, hyphen-, exclamation point! to the power of n |
Nov 6, 2007 12:40AM |
Blergh FTW! |
Nov 6, 2007 12:41AM |
@curiousandroid Besides everyone knows that 97.6% of all statistics and polls are made up. |
Nov 6, 2007 6:06AM |
@uncertaingod From which poll did you get that % ? There's lies, damned lies and then statistics!! |
Nov 6, 2007 6:18AM |
Absolutely right! 86.62% of all statistics and polls are made up. I'll even say again, 81.1% of all statistics and polls are made up. |
Nov 6, 2007 7:12AM |
@aus5543 & @uncertaingod As a previous student of Statistics (I do not joke) I would say that polls are not so much made up as inaccurate with respect to reality. The samples taken to get the opinions are usually IMHO far too small and do not get a genuine cross section's viewpoint thus distorting the results published. |
Nov 6, 2007 7:15AM |
Thread Topic: Torchwood/101 Made-Up Statistics |
Nov 6, 2007 10:51AM |
Well he won't be bisexual in the show forever, if you don't watch Doctor Who you might not have realised that Captain Jack is also the future "FACE OF BOE" |
Nov 6, 2007 1:37PM |
@jayp23 Is that true about the Face of Boe? would explain some things, you should go and post that in the interesting tv trivia thread that is going on. |
Nov 6, 2007 2:09PM |
Yes captain jack is indeed the face of boe. |
Nov 6, 2007 2:13PM |
didnt you watch doctor who he dies years and years into the future |
Nov 6, 2007 2:16PM |
Will have to watch again, was sick while a few episodes were playing and flaked out a few times, not like I need a good excuse to watch season 3 again, but now I have one, thanks guys |
Nov 6, 2007 2:17PM |

Nov 9, 2007 4:48AM |
@Quark have to agree with you there, and Eve Myles is easy on the eyes as well |
Nov 9, 2007 7:05AM |
SPEAKING OF TORCHWOOD ..... 29/3/07: John Barrowman confirms that filming on the second season begins at the end of April (through to November) and a January 2008 broadcast looks likely - with each episode followed by a first look at the next episode straight after on BBC Three. 2/4/07: Episode one to be titled "Fresh Start"? Unconfirmed rumour. 4/4/07: Filming confirmed as beginning on Monday 30th April - with Andy Goddard directing block one (number of episodes unknown) Russell T Davies scripts the series opening, although it's thought this is not part of block one. 4/5/07: ICWales confirms that the production team have spent the last few days filming at the BP Sports and Social Club sports field in Sully. 6/5/07: John Barrowman interviewed in issue 157 of SFX Magazine: ""Things will change about people, about the Hub, characters will grow and develop even more, some people might disappear. I'm being really vague, but a lot of things are going to happen. Things will be different." 22/5/07: Spies on set reveal that season two will see a flashback to Captain Jack's childhood. We'll see Jack's mother and father - as well as an infant version of Jack himself, played by 15 year old Jack Montgomery. 29/5/07: DWSci-Fi interviews John Barrowman about Torchwood season two: "I've just been sent the breakdown for the first few episodes and there's a couple of surprises. I know the storylines for most of the series now, and certain things are going to change. It will be coloured very differently and will bring a lot of the humour back to Captain Jack." 31/5/07: In an interview with Australia's Channel 10 Eve Myles comments: "We%u2019ve just started filming the second series. So at the moment we%u2019ve got 2 story lines to go ahead and one of them I%u2019m not sure how much I%u2019m allowed to speak about it but it involves all the team and they%u2019re incredibly feisty episodes. So there%u2019s a lot of Alien intervention in the second series. I%u2019m filming up until November and then I%u2019ve been offered a film straight after it so that will take me up until February. I haven%u2019t accepted anything yet but that%u2019s in the pipeline - another drama and hopefully six weeks after we start the third series of Torchwood." |

Torchwood rocks!! I noticed that sometimes Capt Jack pronounces some words Like the British instead of like an American which is kinda funny hmm I may have mentioned that b4 in this thread? |
12 months ago |
I'm with you curious on this one. Torchwood is a great concept and any sci-fi storyline can fit. So hopefully we'll get plenty more. |

bunged? |
@jameshowson A bung is something which is used to seal a hole in a barrel or otherwise. In the UK can also mean constipation! The bottle is bunging you up!! HNY |
12 months ago |
@quark I think the bottle is a bit more than a bung LOL! I can't wait for the new season this is a show I found since I have joined this site, I think at Quarks suggestion and I have become hooked! |

New Torchwood episodes start Jan 2008 2x02: Sleeper 2x03: To The Last Man 2x04: Meat 2x05: Adam Torchwood, the award-winning drama created by Doctor Who writer Russell T Davies, bursts back on our screens in mid-January 2008, this time premiering on BBC Two. And this time it's bigger and bolder with more fun, adventure and excitement for the alien-fighting team... Captain Jack Harness (John Barrowman), Gwen (Eve Myles), Owen (Burn Gorman), Toshiko (Naoko Mori) and Ianto (Gareth Lloyd-Davies) return as the investigators delving into the alien underworld of modern day Cardiff. In response to audience demand, younger fans will now have the opportunity of watching a specially edited pre-watershed repeat. Roly Keating, Controller BBC Two, says: "We're delighted that Torchwood is joining BBC Two. "We know from the success and popularity of Heroes that there's a growing appetite for smart, high-quality, sci-fi drama on the channel so Torchwood is a perfect fit. "I'm also pleased to announce that, due to popular demand from families and younger viewers, we will be showing a special pre-watershed repeat so everyone can enjoy the new series." Making a special guest appearance in the first episode is James Marsters as Captain John. He starred as Spike, the punk-goth vampire in Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Angel. Captain John and Captain Jack go way back and have "history". When he appears through the Rift under Cardiff looking for Captain Jack not only does he disrupt Captain Jack's homecoming but the whole team, city and world are suddenly placed in danger. The new series promises an exhilarating mixture of adventure, heartbreak, humour and surprise and pushes the team's resolve and friendships as never before. Firmly rooted in urban life of 21st century Cardiff, Torchwood's investigations into alien activity give the team glimpses of the 51st Century and the First World War. They encounter alien sleeper cells; save a stranded creature from human exploitation; meet a tragic soldier from the First World War; and encounter a memory thief who exposes long-forgotten secrets among the entire team. During the run Alan Dale (Ugly Betty, The O.C, Lost and The West Wing) makes a star appearance. Another familiar face among the special guest stars is Doctor Who's companion Martha Jones (Freema Agyeman) who appears half way through the series. Richard Briers, Nerys Hughes and Ruth Jones (Gavin And Stacey) also appear in various roles. Russell T Davies says: "This series pushes the Torchwood team further than ever before. They are joined by some incredible guest stars who are really going to cause waves. It's adventurous, thrilling and packed full of surprises." |

Were do you think they will take Torchwood? Do you think Capt. Jack will find love? (boy or girl) |
12 months ago |
No we can see from other Dr episodes that if he is the face of BO he ends up being a lonely old alien. |
12 months ago |
Thanks blkhole, I forgot about the face of bo. Living forever would suck. |
12 months ago |
well they did not say he was, just a they called him that? they could do a twist? and the master was dead and maybe not ? maybe he will do a crossover on torchwood ? |
12 months ago |
For anyone who isn't clear on that Face of Boe and Jack reference this was on "Doctor Who - Last of the Time Lords.": Capt. Jack tells the Doctor he "used to be a poster boy when [he] was a kid in the Boeshane Peninsula," as "the first one ever to be signed up for the Time Agency ... 'The Face of Boe', they called me." |
12 months ago |
what i am thinking is that it maybe a plot twist or somthing like that? anyone |
12 months ago |
Look it up on wikipedia and it has an in-depth summary and explanation on the topic as well as Russell T Davies take on the subject: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Face_of_Boe |
12 months ago |
So did Jack mutate into a giant head? That makes no sense. Hey James! Why is there a bottle up your ass?!! |

@subserve that is what torrent sites are for you down load them 30 mins after they have aired in U.K. and watch 30 mins after that cheers mate |

I don't have the room on my HD anymore- (one of my New Years resolutions) Streaming for me Thanks and cheers to you too |
12 months ago |
@subserve Then lose some older stuff or archive it to DVD and free up storage space on your comp. Even better is to archive all vids to External Hard Drive. Then all still available but HD has max space available. |
12 months ago |
wow-thanks all-as if i didn't know how. again i have a new years resolution-to clean up my HD-got it? Streaming is best for me-why argue? |

@subserve No argument from me just suggesting a different way in case you hadn't thought of it. No offense intended. |
