This is a "Some Day, part II". Even though from one perspective it is conceptually simple to do, I know the admin is busy. I get that. Just doing a what-if here...


So how cool would it be to have a script that ran on the back end that did a stat on the ShareTV IRC channel and reported the number of active users online? That way for folks in different time zones when they log on they could see there were ShareTV members in chat (and then join in).

I know I have found ppl there at odd (in my time zone) and I know some folks are spending a lot of time there trying to help new folks and stuff so you never know who you will find there or when you will find them there...

@whip. that does sound good. apart from once with you and gedman ,everytime i go in im on my own.not sure if others have been in and then left.

Thing is, when folks know other folks are in the channel they can join and a good time is generally had. however if folks do know there are other ppl there they don't stop in.

God I must have been tired when I wrote that; I meant if folks DONT know there are ppl in the chat room they don't stop in.....sheesh.

Stats today well I just went in and no one so far, will be in for several hours still. Come on in and Chat TV!

Here is how to connect to the chat room If you are using Firefox
Once you have
chatzilla installed, type this in the typing bar at the bottom of the
program /server irc.phazenet.com
That will connect you to phazenet, once
there type this in the type bar /join #shareTV

If you wish to use a separate program or do not use Firefox, you can get mIRC available for free download from www.mirc.com, or take a look at the Wiki list http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_IRC_clients

i still look in now and again but usually miss everyone. must be the time difference i suppose

I am not on nearly as much as I feel I should be and I am so sorry for that. So far only a handfull of people really seem to be intersted in the irc chat. I'm sure once Admin gets a Chat Page right on site everyone will be in there. Thanks for trying it out!
