I was thinking maybe a splash screen that appears when you click on 'Forum' saying things like, No Flaming, No begging for Invitations etc. Or maybe it would become annoying after awhile? What do you think guys? |

We all should know that know maybe ? |

We do Odo but newbies don't To define 'splash screen' more for those that don't know what I mean, a splash screen is one you often see on sites with the company logo etc as soon as you enter the site, it can be made so you need to click ok to advance or it can just disappear by itself in a few seconds. |

maybe on the forum main page just under unrelated chat we warn them about asking for invites and such maybe in red so it stands out a bit what do you think |

@romeo Good suggestion, and on reflection the page that shows the different threads is really a splash screen already. @Odo Yours is a good suggestion too because newbies who come here just to beg for invitations have just had to signup to gain access to the forum. |

should ask a mod to forward this chris? |

but if you leave something on the main page it is there to remind members all the time |

you have a very good point romeo Odo this thread is in 'site suggestions' so I am sure admin will see it as a matter of course. |

or as members of this site we all agree not to answer anybody who asks for invites they will soon get sick of asking for invites if no one posts a comment in there post and leave it to the mods to handle |

@paddebug Like your suggestgion. A couple of sites I blong to have an "ANOUNCEMENT" that pops up when something new reguarding the site needs to have the info spread. Would suggest that something luke that could be done here so it appears right after log-in. For new members you would have to read before you can continue. This could contain the Do's and DON'TS" |

Pop Up is not a good idea... Per example, I blocked all pop ups from sites that I do not knowledge. Putting any thing on the forum main page, will be the same that to polute the main page. Better... To use the system "no reply" for us and a orientation before the sign up form for newbies. |

@NIP If I see a thread requesting an invite. I will remove it and tell the originator in their GB why it has been removed. I think a splash page would very soon become annoying to all members. With respect to flaming would it not be better to have your Moderators remove the posting and again tell the member concerned in their GB.the reason. There are also thoughts about attaching a code of conduct page to the joining form. Admin will keep us advised. In the meantime (as some of you already do) if you see anything by way of a members posting that is out of order please let a Moderator know as soon as you can. Many Thanks. |
