Warner Brothers are taking a second shot at rebooting the Superman Franchise. After Superman Returns (directed by Brian Singer) failed to meet expectations, Warner Brothers are giving it another go.
The Movie will be written by David S Goyer (The Dark Knight) and Produced by Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight, Inception). Zack Snyder (Watchmen) has been hired to direct.
27 year old Henry Cavill who is best known for his protrayal of Charles Brandon in Showtime's The Tudors will play Clark Kent/Superman.
Superman: The Man Of Steeel hits Cinemas December 2012.

Diane Lane has been cast in Man of Steel. Lane will play Martha Kent.

Kevin Costner has signed up to play Jonathan Kent.
Amy Adams has been cast as Lois Lane. Adams was recently nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in The Fighter.
Interesting that once popular "leading man" Kevin Costner is portraying Jonathan Kent just as once popular "leading man" Glen Ford portrayed the same role in the Christopher Reeve Superman. Though the role was small, Ford was good and I suspect that Costner will also do well.
Michael Shannon has signed to play General Zod. He currently appears in Boardwalk Empire.
Laurence Fishbourne has been cast in Man of Steel as Perry White.
The release date for the movie has been pushed back to June 14, 2013.

The majority of the cast are multi award winning actors. Three have won the best actor/actress Oscar and three have been nominated for the best actor/actres Oscar.
Im really excited about the movie, especially after watching the second trailer. This might just be the best Superman movie yet.
