Hi everyone, I am downloading a season right now because that was the only way to get the first episode. I'm really new to this and I'm wondering if this is taking longer than it should. It's at about 42% complete and it's been downloading for at least 7 hours. I am using utorrent and under the tab files near the bottom I can see that there are two of each episode one text and one avi. Am I able to delete the text one and just do the avi? Is this a usual time frame for this size of file (4.26 GB)? Is there anything I can do to make it go faster? I don't know advanced terminology :) , in fact this is the first I've ever heard of torrents. But I think I have a fair base of computer knowledge. I would appreciate any help I can get on this learning journey of mine :) Thanks |

you can set priority. rightclick on 1st episode and set Highest - it will download first. torrent technology is using whole your internet speed. So you can pay more to your provider :) 7 hours for 2 gb is avarage for most users. |

EXPERIMEMTED AND CAME UP WITH IT MYSELF. ALL I KNOW IS THAT IT WORKS FOR ME AND I SEEM TO BE DLING A LOT FASTER THAN PREVIOUSLY WITH ROUGHLY THE SAME AMOUNT OF SEEDERS AND PEERS FOR SAME SIZE SHOWS. UTORRENT DOES NOT KNOW WHAT YOUR CONNECTION IS ONLY WHAT YOU TELL IT. IF YOU TELL IT TO GIVE YOU MORE GLOBAL CONNECTIONS,PEERS PER TORRENT AND SLOTS PEER TORRENT THAT IS WHAT IT HAS TO DO NO MATTER WHAT YOUR ACTUAL SPEED. |

@joker- on your second to last comment you say to have the UPUN ports checked. I have a "UPnP Framework". Is that the same thing? |

@jsnyderthe2nd, I think he meant "open",but now the subject of UPnP,Universal Plug and Play.If you enable it in your client you must enable it in XP and your router, and allow it as an exception in your windows firewall.By doing so there is no need to forward ports in your router.I use this protocol and am very happy with the results. If you have any questions about it please leave a message in my guestbook. |
