Recommendations please: Shows to watch with my boyfriend

Hi everyone,
I'm looking for a show to watch with my boyfriend. We're looking for an already completed series or one that's still airing but has been on for at least 4 seasons.

I'm not looking for sitcoms. He hates comedies.
This is a list of the shows we have watched so far and really enjoyed together:

- True Blood
- Breaking Bad
- Weeds
- Oz
- V (new series)

I suggested Sons of Anarchy and Dexter but he's not interested in either.
I would really appreciate the help. Thanks in advance.

You should try and a convince him to watch Sons of Anarchy, it is one of the best shows out there. Another good one is Battlestar Galactica (recent version). 24, and prison break are also very good shows. Lost is a great show to watch with someone else.

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately I don't like 24, Prison Break (he loves it) or Lost.
I'm open to BG since I heard a lot of people praising it. If he agrees to it then we have a new show to watch!

If anyone has any more recommendations please share them.

Thanks again thor!

oops! Sorry morphieo I didn't see your reply before I posted.
I used to watch nip/tuck (before I met him) and I liked it but I lost interest by season 4.
As for Californication, there is NO WAY I'm watching that with him! I'm waaaay too jealous lol.

Thanks for the recommendations though, i really appreciate it.

Dexter, the UK version of Being Human, The Shield, definately Sons of Anarchy, Dead Like Me, Sopranos....

all easy to watch by both Sexes and fit into the 'genre' that you seem to like. View my show lost on my profile for other suggestions

Also Rescue Me is serious and funny and has like 7 seasons, which are all great. Seriously though for the best show ever, watch The Wire, which has more than five seasons and if you did Oz you cant resist this. Also try and change your mind about Dexter, its someo f the best tv in years, and if all else fails The Sopranos or Sons of Anarchy are well worth the time.

And if you want great writing humor drama but only a couple seasons, do Dead Like Me

Thank you for the suggestions blank. I am already a HUUUGE fan of The Wire. I also really like Rescue me and Being Human. He has watched Rescue Me before but didn't like it, we might give BH a go.

I FINALLY managed to convince him to watch Dexter and we started last night. If he doesn't like it by the end of the first season then we'll move on to another show but I don't think that's possible.

I have also watched Dead Like Me, but since it's only 2 seasons long then he won't agree to watch it.
He has also watched the Sopranos when it was running so he wants something new.

I think BH is an excellent suggestion, I completely forgot about it.

Forgot to add that I'm HUUUUUGE fan of the shield as well. But like the sopranos, he has already seen it and wants something new.

ScyFy just came out with an americanized version of Being Human, but the UK version already has like 3 seasons. The ScyFy is only on its second episode tomorrow if you wanted to watch it as they happen. myself I prefer watching shows back to back. I consider myself a sort of tv-show matchmaker because I am an addict/have lots of free time at work and have seen pretty much every show ever. I just cant imagine someone who likes Breaking Bad and Oz not liking Sons of Anarchy. Just to throw out a few more you can google about and see what you think are The Fixer, Carnivale, Deadwood, United States of Tara, Rome (Definately definately Rome) Southland, and the UK's 'Hustle'

Do you know where I can find Sons of Anarchy online?

Rome is EXCELLENT!!! He won't want to watch it though since it's only two seasons. Same problem for Carnivale unfortunately but I might watch it on my own at some point.
I think he would like Hustle. I've watched the first 3 seasons a couple of years back and really liked it.
As for United States of Tara, I've seen the first 2 episodes on the Turdors final season DVD and liked what I saw. We might wait for it to have more episodes before we start watching it.

Like you, we like to watch shows back to back instead of waiting for episodes to air weekly.

I've never heard of the fixer, I'll check it out.

Thanks a lot blank!

Fringe is good, you also might like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, it is a bit campy but has a lot of good action. The Gates was good but it was only one season. Firefly was a good Sci-fi series. I noticed someone recommended Battle Star Galactica, but you could also watch Caprica which is a prequel to BSG, and their will be a future series that falls in between the two. Also another great HBO series was Deadwood. Good luck.

BSG and Rome, great shows.

Hmm... Although not an old series with a lot of episodes, Game of Thrones you could look into. I'll say up front that it's only just started, but thus far it's good. Something to tune into weekly maybe?

Try The Shield, in my opinion the best TV show ever made. If you did not like it I would be very suprised.

The Shield is one of my all time favorites and we've already watched, only not together. I doubt he'll like Entourage but Boardwalk Empire sounds like a good show to start. Thanks.
