There's no way I could pick one favorite, but obviously I love Majel Barrett Roddenberry, William Shatner, George Takei, Nichelle Nichols,...I could go on and on with the Trek actors.

I don't really have a favorite character. It mostly depends on the character of that actor.

Hugh Laurie (House)

Rachel Griffiths (Brothers & Sisters)

Michael Kitchen (Foyle's War)

Tracey Ullman (Her own shows)

Brian Cranston (Breaking Bad)

Michael C Hall (Six Feet Under / Dexter)

These are my current favorites (couldn't pic just one either, sorry)... I'll try any new show these actors appear in, simply because they're listed as part of the cast....

I think some of the most impressive (and fun) acting goes on in the second tier for example:
Mary Lynn Rajskub (Cloey on 24)
Dan Shea (Sgt Siler on SG-1)
Dan Curtis (Festus on Gunsmoke)

@Slugger: Neither of which have done much television.

On a related note, while they will never be the "greatest" actors or actresses, I think we should at least buy a round of drinks for the bad guys in TV. They tend to be the same ones so its easy to pick out the villain in any given show but more importantly, how would you feel if you got slotted into these kinds of roles which amount to show up and get your ass beat by the hero. Every week, different hero on a different show but its always the same bad guys.

Rodney Dangerfield would love them.

Cheers!

Thanks whip

Strange to say I just saw Linda Thorson on our TV this afternoon (UK channel 4). She was in The Avengers about 40 years ago. She looked so old - but I suppose I do too. Still, it was good to see her and to hear she has been busy and in work for the past 40 years.

I like Keifer and Marylin from 24. While the show can be preposterous, they make you believers in their characters. While I don't know any spies or anything like Jack, I know a lot of geeks because of my line of work and Cloey is so dead-on of a capture of about every real geek I have ever met.

I have to agree with you that Pertwee was a great Doctor, but I have been watching the orginals for the first time with Harnell and he was an excellent Doctor, he created the air of curiousity, exploration and childlike wonder that has always been part of the character.
guru

@Ygagnon1024 - I see where you are coming from but I found Hartnell a bit pathetic. But, there again, I find David Tennant a bit 'over the top'.

It wouldn't do for us all to be the same. And, David Tennant is very popular so I am in a minority. I don't watch Dr. Who now so I shouldn't really comment. I did watch when Jon Pertwee was The Doctor and I enjoyed it. Enough said.
