I first went online in 1991, first on Prodigy. We didn't have an Internet back then as you know it now. We had online services. After about two months, I left Prodigy for GEnie and joined a forum, called a RoundTable on GEnie, on the 1980's series "Beauty and the Beast" starring Ron Perlman and Linda Hamilton. It was a lot of fun. George R. R. Martin, who was one of the writers on the series, was on GEnie at the time and frequently visited our RoundTable. We have some great discussions and eventually became to call ourselves the GEniepipers. GEnie, it was owned by General Electric, for the online service, and pipers with the idea about tapping out messages on the pipes, our computers being our pipes, like they did in the series.

All that eventually went the way of all things in the online world, it eventually ended in about '96 for me; but, I decided to keep the GEniepiper name, this time making it all lower case letters.

About 1000 years ago I went out to buy a 300 baud modem to go online for the very first time (might have purchased the modem second-hand from Moses) and coming home was rear-ended in a car accident, totalling my car. Seemed appropriate when I logged onto my first BBS...

Well, my nick comes from the train station really. They have a text on their glass doors which i read from the opposite side for 2 months when walking through them. And the text from the "wrong" or mirrored side said "ixaT" and dumb as i was for 2 whole months i thought that it was a weird thing to put on a door in a train station until i saw from the correct side of the door and then realized that it said "Taxi". And from that moment on i´ve been using it as my nickname to remind me of my own stupidity, but the first time i used it my fingers slipped on the keyboard and a z fell in when i typed the x...

Lets see, getting back to the topic... oh yeah, I picked my original very first ever screename for yahoo ...hippychic1us.. because I was into being a hippy and when i put in that with the fact I am female it suggested hippychic, which was of course taken so they tacked on the 1us lol! Later I went to TheTrekhippy for Winmx chat rooms, messed around with it a bit taking on different tags and such, I was even a borg once LOL then, I went to straight up trekhippy for juno email. After trying all of those on for size I like TheTrekhippy best, and I have yet to find anyone else using it, other than the occasional troll using it for temporary chat room/forum trolling.

In my case, I had a mantra, "simplify your life... simplify your life..." - I always liked the number 3 -- has a certain balance to it - triad, it's the minimum number of lines required to make three dimensions (one front back, one left right, one up down - and I don't know what a line into the fourth dimension could be called - a hyperline I guess)... etc etc. So, "simplify3" it was. Been online since the 300 baud modem myself and PC-Link - probably 1988/89. Was a BBS geek back then, then a Usenet geek, etc etc. Still remember my first hard drive. (no sexual puns please! :) )

So when I read the Punisher Welcome back Frank in 2000 there was this hit man called Harry Heck who tried to look like the master Johny Cash. But as all perps going up against Frank Castel he met his demise in about a page or so. The name and character stuck so in about a week or so I changed my nick from Rorschach (from the best graphical novel of all time The Watchmen)to Harry Heck.
