I, as most of you m ay know am a torrentfreak reader. In response to new torrent fears, I am quoting a recent article about some private trackers which are currently have OPEN registration.
**Most of the trackers listed here are not as big as TorrentLeech or OiNK But, you have to start somewhere, and these sites are worth your while if you want to try a private tracker.

1. BitNation [BN]

BitNation offers a wide variety of torrents, sofware TV shows, movies, music and more.

2.TVtorrents

The TVtorrents tracker specializes in TV-shows.

3. BitGamer [BG]

The name pretty much gives it away.

4. Cinematic

Cinematic is a great tracker for film fanatics.

I could use some help in understanding some things. I have no problem with private trackers. I use demonoid on a regular basis. However, with Demonoid I don't have to sign into the site to seed. I do with other private trackers. What is the difference?

If it weren't for that I would only use private trackers.

Demonoid isn't really a private tracker, it used to be but now it's torrents are private & public.

I only use private trackers for the most part the shows are up faster and have way better download speeds( I usually get between 600 to a full 1.5 meg so say an average of 800) takes 10 mins to get show and is very easy to keep up ratio)

I have invites for funfile ip bittv and the box to give out to reg members only I use demoniod once in awhile if I am looking for something extrmely old. The other reason I use private no viruses or spyware

The difference with these private and public torrent sites its that usually private sites have stricter upload and download policies. You have to seed back 1:1 on what you download and if you hit and run you could get banned where as public everyone usually hits and never seed back. Anyone could upload in public torrent site but in private ones such as Supertorrents.org or Leecherslair you have to have a high upload bandwidth(server preffered) with Scene access in order to upload. Private sites have the fastest download speed since there are less congested enviorments and make file sharing quicker as opposed to public, also they offer scene release in advanced as opposed to public since many start from top sites - newsgroups narrow down to private torrents then public and finally p2p.

I know the diff between public and private, what I don't understand is why on a private tracker that I have registered with and have a good ratio with Why Should I have to sign in to seed a torrent I have already been seeding just because I rebooted my pc.

Probably because the way the tracker is the passkey cant update the U/D ratio to the site unless you login. May also depend on Dynamic IP and Static IP can also have an affect on this where a tracker monitors Upload/Download based on your IP and if you reboot and are assigned a different IP then you have to login so that the site can monitor your up/down based on the new IP used if not you will get an error on the tracker comment and also will not let you download.

Private are MUCH faster

What are the best private sites that I would be able to register at?

@jiji87 Demonoid.com on the weekends. Most other private sites have gone 'invitation only', except on special occasions and then you just have to either hear it through the forums or catch it at the right time. There is a forum thread for Demonoid Invitations, that some have been using for other site ivitations as well, you can read through that and it will give you some of the information you are interested in.

I find demonoid very slow to get the latest torrents up & its download(around 80kbs)not very impressive & my upload ratio hasn't been updated since the first week I joined (about 4 months ago).I get better results from EZTV.

@ged me too, i joined demonoid over a year ago and it still shows my ratio as 0, the box gives great dl speeds but i find it hard to seed back. I dl a 2.4gb free leech a week ago and only 350mb have been ul back, i don't seem to connect to other leeches even when utorrent shows there are a lot, anywhere else mu ul can sometimes be faster then my dl speed e.g star trek enterprise it's ul twice as fast as it's dl

Private Trackers

tvtorrents.com good for American stuff but do other stuff as well
thebox.bz good for uk stuff which is all they allow to be posted

both expect you to seed in tvtorrents you have to have credit before you can download so you need to share something that is already posted on the site to earn credit

windsorboyd there are a few folk on thebox that have seed boxes with upload speeds of up to 10mb/s so they've given the file out while your client is thinking about it.
Upload speed is the key most Internet Providers try to tempt you with 8 or 10 mb/s download but don't seem to mention that with them you only get 0.25 or 0.3mb/s upload with such slow upload speeds your at a huge disadvantage.
There are a few providers in the UK that give uploads of up to 2.5mb/s but this does depend on how far you are from your exchange I'm with "be" and get 2.1 mb/s upload

qemist.info, using a vanilla tracker package with the grand total of 5 torrents which if you try to grab any of them gives you a torrent that won't update and connect to the main seed in a timely fashion so I can't even gauge what speed seedbox you are using.

If you want to set up and run a tracker fine, but get some help from someone who knows what they are doing and make sure you have the infrastructure in place to handle it.
