I use it, I don't usually use public trackers because the private ones I belong to usually get tv shows before EZTV does. I think it's good but it doesn't completely protect you.

Well, I definitely use Peer Guardian(2), but I went for about a month without it when I first started downloading (shudder!). I did have to add a tracker to the permanent allow list: http://denis.stalker.h3q.com:6969/announce, because PG2 blocks it due to an association with the hacker group Chaos Computer Club.

I typically download over night, so I'm not usually surfing the net while PG is running, but you should know that when the http block is engaged, it will often block web pages that require cookies, as well as web-based videos (including the ones linked at this site).

Thanks guys, and especially HisHighness for starting the thread. I had to re-do my computer a while back and lost my PG. Wanted to install it again but couldn't for the life of me remember what it was called. Note to others: Trying to google something that you have absolutely no idea what it's called can be a tad difficult and very frustrating!

Is "peerguardian" good at its job?

Yes it does its job it blocks over 700 million ip addresses of known companies, and governments. wait to you turn it on when your transfering p2p you'll see all kinds of companies trying to connect and get blocked. Not a 100 oolproof but much better than transfering without protection. Remember no glove no love :)

If those with the means want to find you, they'll find you. The harder you make it, though, I'd say the better your chances.

I was wondering if anyone knows when the bluetack lists will be back online. I tried the link to their download center, didn't work at all. Right away got a Connection Interrupted The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading. Anybody else have any problems?
