I can start.
I am from Moscow. Few years ago unlimited internet become reality for us (early we paid for megabytes) and we start to watch tv-shows. First it was LOST on 1st TV-channel and many peolpe realise that modern tv-series are not so bad and can compare to movies, sometimes even more interesting!
Now few websites are doing HUGE work by dubbing popular tv-shows on russian language('Lostfilm.tv' for example).
And lucky ones who know english(like me:)) just enjoying originals :)

I live in the North of England and am lucky because I live within 2 miles of the Tv transmitter. I am using shareTV and p2p to see again all those shows I enjoyed years ago and to watch our US cousins latest which may or may not be screened here.

oh, forgot one thing.
We have MAJOR LAN networks, so most people dont download something big from internet - 90hat this movie/series are already at your neighbour's computer :)

I'm from Brazil. We have cable television over here, included HBO, Universal, Sony and TNT. All the series are transmitted with one season of delay or start to be transmitted when already they had been cancelled by the original canals, as for example “John from Cincinatti”.

I love sharetv because here I can have access to the new series, as well as to the cancelled or complete series, as for example “Big Shots”, “Damage”, “Tell Me You Love Me, “I love Lucy”.

Stumbled on sharetv a few weeks ago, and have been in love with it since I first saw it! I use Torrentpond quite a bit (searches all the main sites) so that's easy. I work at home , so I'm on the computer.......a lot.

I have cable and thank god it includes the American networks ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, and TheCW. The first time I used ShareTV though was to view the episodes from season 1 of the CBC Canadian show Little Mosque on the Prairie, than I watched the original Bionic Woman where she battles the Fembots in a 3 part episode. I am hoping to one day see the 1,225 half hour episodes of Dark Shadows on ShareTV.
WOW!!! That fine is over the top.

Our local commercial television networks are useless. Not only do they not pick the best shows to watch, they flood the schedule with reality shows (often the pathetic American Top Model, So you think you can dance...etc.) and when they do have a good local, British or American series, they quite often move it or axe it without a moments notice. Not to mention the fact that most shows are shown months, even years after our US mates (this is starting to improve though.....they are threatened by the internet).

So I have given up on commercial TV. I'm finding more and more interesting content on our major public network, the ABC (eg. The Chaser, Summer Heights), but I'm now getting most of my TV viewing pleasures from ShareTV and season DVD's.

The only downside of switching to ShareTV, is that us Aussie's have to pay a LOT for a decent amount of speed and downloads. I pay $90/month for 30GB's of downloads, which is rather ridiculous and such a ripoff. Anyways....the future is bright!

I am from Rhode Island, USA, part of the 6 state region know as New England. Because we live on the north Atlantic and where the arctic wind reach it is usually snowing by now but it was 80F everyday last week. Rhode Island is the smallest state and the most densly populated so we have fiber optics here before most of the rest of the country.
I am disabled and a single parent so share TV means I can time shift tv shows and see movies in 15 minute chunks while I do household chores.

I am from Australia, like a few of the other aussies have said,commercial TV here is bad, tonight for example we had 3 year old south park and australian idol on. So I chose to watch s11e08 of south park instead due to this great site!

Hey there! I'm Aelia, I'm from U.K. but moved to Seattle about two years ago now. I just work at a Starbucks (go figure, Seattle) so I can't afford a TV set or the connection itself just yet, so when I can, I like to watch TV on the internet.

I'm really into Grey's Anatomy, it's my show of choice but I also like the kids' cartoons from back when, like Pepper Ann & some of the new ones like Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends - that ones the best!

I have some reservations about shelling out for "real" television, because I hate a lot of the shows that are played nowadays, and I couldn't justify paying for those. Also all the bloody commercials make me want to find a roof and jump off it.

Anyway, I dont' watch a lot of TV, but I know what's good.

hey, whats up people I'm here in New York the city that never lets you sleep. I have been here my whole life and i cant stand it anymore. Gas is too high, insurance is ridiculous, people are snobs, and don't even get me started on rent. Android your lucky you don't have to spend your winter digging your car out from the snow. Well thats enough raving about New York, I'm going to move as soon as I get the chance somewhere warm where rent is cheap and the people are nice. What do you guys/girls recommend.

I would love to visit Australia someday. It sounds and looks amazing from what I see on the internet and television. As for oil tycoon's go.....apparently they are very few and far between, cause I've never bumped into one. Believe it or not, we (Texans) don't all ride horses, most have never seen a real horse. And we don't all carry guns.

Crocodile == edible leather. Kangaroo isn't bad....it's a bit like beef, only more tender and sweeter (sugary sweeter...not awesomeness sweeter). Emu is pretty nice to i think.

I haven't tried possums, snakes, highly venomous spiders or koalas yet...but give it time.

Anyway, then i search for it,in the google, again XD The word was just like "Gossip Girl watch", that's it! haha, then i when to other webside, yahoo, in asia,i'm not sure. Then there was a commet,like this, asking about to watching some serie, for free, then I saw a comment, go to sharetv.org, maybe u'll find it. That's how I knew this webside! And I just love it!!!!

I completely agree with the claims about ow crap aus tv is. I sense a coming revolution though, we're only a week behind with heroes now its been "fast tracked". and californication is two weeks behind I think (different channel). As someone mentioned above, ABC has some absolutely GREAT shows on it, original comedies, shows like the chaser, and for my daily dose of intellectualism it usually has a good doco on as well, original and bbc. as much as i love watching U.S shows, I HATE seeing them on aus tv so often. we don't have any of our own. it's bad enough our primminister is *censored* George Dubya.....

Also, Just to add.. I find it REEEEALLLY funny that "most texans have never even seen a horse" because I've seen plenty. And whilst there aren't *many* kangaroos hopping down the main road, there are plenty trying to cross them, theres plenty of decaying carcases

I was imagining myself completely cut off from American media for the next three years...I don't speak/understand Korean, so TV here is a bust. Well here is my little bit.
I was born in a town called Worksop in Nottinghamshire in the UK. Parents took me to the Island of Jersey when I was 2 years old. Spent 2 years living in Miami from the age of 10 and then back to Jersey until I was 18. Then in Granville in France for a year and then to Orlando in Florida for another 2 years. From there back to Jersey until 6 years ago when I moved to Ely in Cambridgeshire in the UK.
As for TV, well lets just say i'm a Star Trek Nut but I love Sci-Fi in general.

opals are mined in austraila but not in perth.. all we have is sand and heat (nearly a desert). but i like the dry climate. I live about 1k/m from the ocean and the air is fresh and clean!

Opals are mainly mined in South Australia. The opal capital of the world is Coober Pedy and the people there live underground in houses built out of converted opal mines (very shallow ones of course). Underground houses are perfect in the middle of the hot dry outback.

I am from Jamaica and it isn't easy here. Our Tv shows show an Tv series for like smallville and then they dont follow up on the episodes or hell even the freaking seasons sometimes you be watching over the same episode like the other week so its kinda hard to know what to expect or to know where the show is going... Am telling you it's shitty. Prison Break they showed like 3 episode of season 1 then they stop showing it for 2 weeks then they went back to episode 2 so am telling its shitty lol. But Sharetv has changed all that and even my friends and family love me so much we now watch Tv - Series as movies lol cause we have like so much catching up to do :D

Hi, I am from Nepal, born and living in Hong Kong, the city of lights and pirated DVDs. The broadband/DSL is very cheap out here(US$ 15 a month- unlimited with 6m speed), cheaper than the pirated DVD's for sure. A whole season of any TV series only costs about US$10 in pirated DVD ofcourse, and even cheaper in CHina as it comes mostly from there. Its awesome and i have a huge collection which i want to upload here at sharetv when i am capable and knowledgable. We have cable and a local broadband tv channels that includes HBO, ESPN and a lot more and even several Indian channels...lol. I discovered sharetv a week ago and i am loving it.

Some fight prices arn't bad especially if you go last minute, come in the summer though and be ready to travel the country is big and all parts are different, I have traveled a fair bit and have to say it is one of the most beautiful, hope you make it out some day.

I dont know about 2010 but i think it can survive lot more than that. And the evacutation is from islands which have populations less than 100 to little developed islands so that education, healthcare and other facilities will be better.

I found this site a couple of months ago. I hope this site will stay for a long time. This is really a good site. While browsing the different shows, I found a lot of shows that I saw in my childhood. The great thing of this all is that I can watch all the new shows before they come on the air in Belguim. In Belguim they allways wait a year or two before they buy some shows. Sometimes they buy a good show and after one season they stop broadcasting it. Now sharetv is a GOOD solution. Found this site in the summer; think it came up on 'Stumble on' an add-on for FireFox. What a fab find!! Great site, and one of the few that I have ever participated in regularly, over my many years on the net (~20). Wonderful to see a global community. I download TV instead of watching 'live'. Commercials suck AND they steal 15-20 min/hour of my life that I watch TV. That's the main reason I download; being able to watch whenever, is a close second (lastly nostalgia). In the last 2-3 years I've watched more TV than in the previous decade. Last shows I had watched regularly were Tour of Duty & China Beach.
TV sucks the world over apparently. Canadian TV isn't great, but it does have some good Canadian produced shows; that move to the US if they catch on. (It's simple accounting; 30 million possible viewers VS 300 million.)
On our local cable access (ie part of basic TV that MUST be provided to everyone with cable access, the cost of which is regulated) we have the 3 main Canadian channels, an Aboriginal station which has some really interesting programming, some Public Access channels that have programming from all kinds of local ethnic communities (think PBS 20 years ago in lots of languages) and the big 4 US stations (though they can be up to a year behind), Canadian Parliament -live (riveting LOL) and lots of odd stuff, some of which I've blocked on my TV. We can also get cable/satellite access to all the big US channels (up-to-date) movie channels, movie on demand and pay-per-view (about double for all 'premium' stations pay-per-view costs). If you know 'people' & 'things' you can access them for considerably less, tho not always reliably. Basic cable is ~$50/m, while broadband, unlimited access/speed is ~$45/m Cdn.
After reading here, I'm reminded that I have it good and shouldn't whine.

Your also stuck with that dickhead Simon Cowell from our X Factor which is great coz we all loathe him, but the rest of our shows are ridiculously boring soap operas where nothing ever changes and rip offs of US gameshows, correct me if i'm wrong but the UK writers shouldn't join the strike, they don't do anything neways!

I like Doctor Who/Torchwood, Primeval was pretty good too and how about Little Britain, it's funny as H3#

And I like Spooks, so does the wife.

from what I've heard, the main reason there are so many soaps/reality/game shows in UK is that they simply don't have a very large TV budget. IMHO I think they do a pretty good job of at least coming out with a few high budget shows that rock and that's good enough for me ;)

They can still put on some excellent quality Theatre productions as well.

The real reason why i started to download series from the internet is bec. 2 of my fav were on the same time on two different channels. A few months later i discovered sharetv. :D

I hate bad dubbings, cancelled shows and no possibility to discuss/inform myself timenear to the premiere airing-dates of the series episodes => when we get eventually a good series here, it is usually 1 to ??? years later => if we get a for me interesting series at all.
So I try to find them in the net and buy them later, when released, as DVD, so I can rewatch the series with (hopefully) subtitles and some extras.
Best examples for here never aired series: The Wire, Firefly... = on my top 10 list.

well, we have more of a Mediterranean climate in my home town..so we were kinda used to cold weather in the winter but of course not much below freezing.I have to say the high air humidity in Germany was/still a bit annoying for me,and I still hate rainy days.

u know Amish ppl r originally from south Germany and parts of Switzerland,and I heard that they still use an old german dialect.after the second world war they don't have communities over here any more.

I know in Canada we are used to cold weather, temperatures in the winter of -40 or -50 are not unheard of, fortunately this winter has been a bit milder, no real cold day mostly -10 to -20 just has been snow and snow and snow, not sure if it will ever stop.

Qhotbabe: is it wet AND cold or only cold? We have here (I live nearby the mountains on the top of a hill) very cold weather to much 'water' in the air => often that let the temperature feel 'colder' then it actually is. So - 20�C feels like -40�C....

About beer at McDonalds: i do not know if they still offer it, but in the past it was true. And our beer has a lot more alcohol hen the US beer (and no additional thingies inside, we have the 'Reinheitsgebot' means no additional components are allowed, only the basics.... )

About bad German porns: absolute right, they are really bad.

About dubbing: best of Europe? I go crazy because it is sooo badly done. I guess I should give the other countries version of dubbing also a try, but I'll stay with watching the DVD's in the original language.

So it was not pg-13? I found some explanations in the net what PG-13 means, but they are usually only text's about 'not offensive'. What offensive is for an US I can not find out till now. That example would be here not even nearby of our rules, not even if I would have written it clearer and in complete words.

Curiousandroid is right, here we have a very different way to handle language and especially sexual situations. But we have (very) stronger restrictions for children, if a movie/episode/book... is about violence.
As an additional example: Here they are also not allowed to practise with weapons under the age of 12 and even when they are 12 there are a lot of rules. Including very explicit rules where and under what circumstances it is allowed even for adults. And we all here are have no private weapons without a permission from the government, only ppl with certain jobs or sport or.... get them usually => in complete very few.

So please excuse, I try to learn the differences between the cultures better, one of many reasons I started to use the internet. ;-)

Hi i am from sunny SCOTLAND-Home of the Flightless Haggis, when i was working as a chef for many years was frequently asked by americans about what Haggis is my responce to them was that haggis is a large flightless bird that lives on the moors and only comes out at night lol never once did they even blink :)) I spend most of my free time watching shows online, just recently found this site and absolutly LOVE IT!!

#1 I think it is their parents responsibility to prevent their kids from viewing anything they may deem offensive not ours.

#2 Kids are learning about sex, drugs, and a h3ll of a lot of others things while under the age of 10 from there peers as well as the Internet, TV, and Movies, it's not as if I've stated anything that wasn't true(or that couldn't be found from a simple Google Search). If you try to shelter them it will simply make them even more curious and rebellious.

#3 The real world is a jungle filled danger as well as wonder and the quicker they are made aware the better off they'll all be.

#4 It's that kind of denial, censorship, and lack of open communication with our children that is causing the rate of teen pregnancy to increase so rapidly.(People need to stop trying rely on the rest of the world to keep an I on their kids and definitely stop blaming others for the obvious consequences of bad parenting.)

I don't usually have any reason to be in the company of "youngsters" but if I'm out in public and I say something to an adult that a child overhears, I don't dwell on it.

...and as every parent knows it's nearly impossible to avoid your child hearing something he/she shouldn't and even worse repeating it somewhere he/she shouldn't but that's life and they won't be kids forever so instead of just saying no to shut them up why not take some time to truly teach your kids right from wrong so that they are able to hear things and determine for themselves ;)

I'm a parent and I have a child that visits this site. And maybe once I have had to change the subject when she asks a question, other then that she hears and sees worse things on the school bus. I also understand that many people are trying to keep their children some what sheltered so I try to keep my comments at a PG-13 level. Although I and the Treens are not human (or as you would say Humaan) we have a very similar physiology. We could live on Venus in the 1750s and so could humaans (even Ferengi - although there were none at that time).

The main cause of the demise of Venus was the war we had with Dan Dare. After his attacks, Venus generally became uninhabitable. That said, we Treens do have a small base on Venus and also one on Mars.

You Ferengi are also not human - but both species have the ability to adapt and live on certain parts of Venus.

If you look on some of the pictures of the surface, you'll see oddities that don't quite tie in with the natural formation of rocks and strata etc.

@extralien - what is all this tosh about Aztec pyramids on Phobos? You'll be telling us about finding a massive circular ring, with 39 symbols on it, near a pyramid in Egypt next. And no doubt about a race called The Goa'uld.

lol.. you'll be surprised. Is this the first time you've heard of structures on the Moon and Mars?

There's a lot of genuine NASA images out there of the Moon and Mars that have not been tampered with prior to public release.

It takes a keen eye to actually find anything though. There are a lot of people looking over every photo they can get ever since the face on Mars was discovered.

If you check the link above, you'll see one of these images of a section of Phobos and you'll see the very unusual 'object' on the surface along with someones 'comprehension' of the dimensions of this object.

And yes, SG-1 is kinda cool, and I wonder if you've heard that some people really think these stargates exist and that the tv show is just a cover to bring along disclosure...

@extralien - Too much information friend. In real life I do not believe in any extra-terrestrial beings. I especially don't believe in UFOs.

I am an avid SciFi fan and I imagine, eventually, we'll meet another species. But I don't believe it'll happen within a thousand years.

I agree on UFOs and Aliens. They might be out there, but I'm sure I won't live to see the day we could make contact.
And I'm rather careful with conspiracies - even if I have a vivid imagination I can still tell dreams from truth.

I believe in the next 10-20 years there will be scientific proof of life on other plantets!! but things like bacteria,plants or mayb some kind of insect, but nothing that looks like Mekon :) well not yet anyways!!

There could be any number of reasons why these shapes on the surface exist.The more logical and realistic thought would be geological or impact.Depending on the geo-chemical make up of the moon(Phobos)and how long it took it to cool during its birth,so called structures on the surface could be crystallization of the surface.

Ok, kind of keeping on topic here a bit but also going into the realms of possibilities and theories.

Where are we from?

There are those that think we may be from Mars originally. This could be one way to explain how all the 'structures' seemingly found on Mars got there in the first place.

We don't really have much evidence of our selves being here for any amount of time. We all here of 'the missing link' so it could be possible we were from somewhere else but intermingled with life here on Earth.

If you're interested I suggest you try a google search for mars/moon/phobos bases or anomolies or any other combination you can think of. You might be surprised at the amount of info there is on this topic relating to structures and oddities being found in official photographs. A lot of people are spending a lot of time studying these pictures, and some have found that NASA actually airbrush out certain areas of photos that they don't want to be shown to the public.

I can only point you in the direction of your own research as I'm unable to post pictures in this forum.

As for myself, if these structures are genuinely made by the hands of another, then that's fascinating. If they are nothing but natural formations, then so be it. Lots of people would be proved wrong and nothing else will come of it, yet if they're proved right.....

Mars lost its atmosphere some 4 billion years ago,when the Earth was still a hot ball.Phobos looks to be a piece of a much larger object(maybe another planet or huge asteroid).Notice the shape and the stratification of the surface.The so called space station appears to be an impact exposed by solar erosion.Funny how fuzzy things get when it comes to showing detail.

Ok.. I think I'll start a thread in the new forum for all this sort of stuff as it seems some of us are sharing our views on all things kind of 'conspiratorial' and the like... So I'll move on to there...

all the women that I've slept with have told me that i don't snore and my dad said that I never snored back when I lived with him unless I was really sick and stuffy, but I dated one girl who snored incessantly, it was so bad that we had to sleep in separate rooms and a couple of times her snoring woke my dog up and he started barking at her, so I got her some of those strips you put over your nose and that helped but soon after she broke up with me, apparently her parents didn't want her dating an Android, those racist b@stards!
