I think it would be interesting to read about you, guys. Where are you from? Something TV/internet related etc. I can start. I am from Moscow. Few years ago unlimited internet become reality for us (early we paid for megabytes) and we start to watch tv-shows. First it was LOST on 1st TV-channel and many peolpe realise that modern tv-series are not so bad and can compare to movies, sometimes even more interesting! Now few websites are doing HUGE work by dubbing popular tv-shows on russian language('Lostfilm.tv' for example). And lucky ones who know english(like me:)) just enjoying originals :) Your turn. |
||

I live in the North of England and am lucky because I live within 2 miles of the Tv transmitter. I am using shareTV and p2p to see again all those shows I enjoyed years ago and to watch our US cousins latest which may or may not be screened here. |
||

oh, forgot one thing. We have MAJOR LAN networks, so most people dont download something big from internet - 90hat this movie/series are already at your neighbour's computer :) |

Hey, great idea toh... I'm in the southwestern U.S., but I think we're all a little jumpy here over file sharing copyright violations. An American woman was just convicted of music file sharing and fined about $200,000! |

hi,i am also from the north of england like quark. if not on sharetv i am usualy playing online poker which is my other favourite thing, hi kolbinfo,was here on the news last night about that women,said she got that fine because she wouldnt settle out of court????? |

GREAT idea, Toh! was thinking earlier this week about doing this kind of thread myself - psychic connection! Kolb - pyschic connect with u too - have been wondering about emailing chris about the news... this poor Jaime woman. You must be an NPR groupie too? n8ph8ts--> yeppers, this woman wouldn't settle out of court, said it would have cost her just as much to retain a lawyer to fight it as to pay the out-of-court settlement fees... the whole situation is ludicROUS! I am from the "deep" south (south east of USA) but my mom is from glasgow scotland so i have lived a pretty bi-continental life. Have lived in much better parts of the US (no offense, ya'll!), meaning the northwest & ny state. LOVE the international flair of this site - Toth, your english is superb! more peeps need to hop on this thread, yo! :-) |

Hi, I'm from Brazil. We have cable television over here, included HBO, Universal, Sony and TNT. All the series are transmitted with one season of delay or start to be transmitted when already they had been cancelled by the original canals, as for example “John from Cincinatti”. I love sharetv because here I can have access to the new series, as well as to the cancelled or complete series, as for example “Big Shots”, “Damage”, “Tell Me You Love Me, “I love Lucy”. kolbinfo, yesterday, here, also, it appeared on the News. This is a serious problem! The E-donkey already left air and the Usenext is announcing that it leaves air in day 10. |

Hi, My name is Viciouslollipop and I'm a torrentaholic. I'm from British Columbis, I could get cable if I wanted it, but haven't in yrs, there is no point, I don't watch live sports. Stumbled on sharetv a few weeks ago, and have been in love with it since I first saw it! I use Torrentpond quite a bit (searches all the main sites) so that's easy. I work at home , so I'm on the computer.......a lot. Good thinkin on the thread toh! |

Hello all, Her Majesty's Loyal Canadian subject here in Ottawa, Ontario - The Dominion of Canada. I have cable and thank god it includes the American networks ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, and TheCW. The first time I used ShareTV though was to view the episodes from season 1 of the CBC Canadian show Little Mosque on the Prairie, than I watched the original Bionic Woman where she battles the Fembots in a 3 part episode. I am hoping to one day see the 1,225 half hour episodes of Dark Shadows on ShareTV. WOW!!! That fine is over the top. |

< Victoria, Australia here. Our local commercial television networks are useless. Not only do they not pick the best shows to watch, they flood the schedule with reality shows (often the pathetic American Top Model, So you think you can dance...etc.) and when they do have a good local, British or American series, they quite often move it or axe it without a moments notice. Not to mention the fact that most shows are shown months, even years after our US mates (this is starting to improve though.....they are threatened by the internet). So I have given up on commercial TV. I'm finding more and more interesting content on our major public network, the ABC (eg. The Chaser, Summer Heights), but I'm now getting most of my TV viewing pleasures from ShareTV and season DVD's. The only downside of switching to ShareTV, is that us Aussie's have to pay a LOT for a decent amount of speed and downloads. I pay $90/month for 30GB's of downloads, which is rather ridiculous and such a ripoff. Anyways....the future is bright! |

Hi, I'm from Iowa, that's in the midwestern U.S. I am sad to hear about that gal who got busted for music downloading, but, and I say this again, I am not at all concerned about file sharing or p2p, because I do not download mass amounts of music or movies to burn and sell, and that's who they are after. Everyone should stop by my profile page, and don't forget to visit the myspaces listed there. Thanks! |

I am from Rhode Island, USA, part of the 6 state region know as New England. Because we live on the north Atlantic and where the arctic wind reach it is usually snowing by now but it was 80F everyday last week. Rhode Island is the smallest state and the most densly populated so we have fiber optics here before most of the rest of the country. I am disabled and a single parent so share TV means I can time shift tv shows and see movies in 15 minute chunks while I do household chores. |

Great idea toh! I'm from Australia (Victoria)and as aussienickuss mentioned, Australian Free to Air TV is pretty bad...Surely Big Brother has run it's course??! I am a sci-fi fan and that genre is barely catered for-and if it is- it's usually late at night and the schedule gets shifted around so much one gives up in the end. So when I found this great site while surfing the net one day, I have been able to indulge my passion quite a bit.... Just waiting for Stargate Atlantis to finish downloading-stuck at 93ince yesterday morning- Cheers All |

Hey there! I'm Aelia, I'm from U.K. but moved to Seattle about two years ago now. I just work at a Starbucks (go figure, Seattle) so I can't afford a TV set or the connection itself just yet, so when I can, I like to watch TV on the internet. I'm really into Grey's Anatomy, it's my show of choice but I also like the kids' cartoons from back when, like Pepper Ann & some of the new ones like Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends - that ones the best! I have some reservations about shelling out for "real" television, because I hate a lot of the shows that are played nowadays, and I couldn't justify paying for those. Also all the bloody commercials make me want to find a roof and jump off it. Anyway, I dont' watch a lot of TV, but I know what's good. |

Then there was a commet,like this, asking about to watching some serie, for free, then I saw a comment, go to sharetv.org, maybe u'll find it. That's how I knew this webside! And I just love it!!!! Thanks for shareing, isn't always easy to get some new files in torrents's webside. |

I'm from Australia too. Brisbane actually, I'm really loving the site, it has a great community feel. I completely agree with the claims about ow crap aus tv is. I sense a coming revolution though, we're only a week behind with heroes now its been "fast tracked". and californication is two weeks behind I think (different channel). As someone mentioned above, ABC has some absolutely GREAT shows on it, original comedies, shows like the chaser, and for my daily dose of intellectualism it usually has a good doco on as well, original and bbc. as much as i love watching U.S shows, I HATE seeing them on aus tv so often. we don't have any of our own. it's bad enough our primminister is *censored* George Dubya..... |

Also, Just to add.. I find it REEEEALLLY funny that "most texans have never even seen a horse" because I've seen plenty. And whilst there aren't *many* kangaroos hopping down the main road, there are plenty trying to cross them, theres plenty of decaying carcases |

Okay...guess I'm going to be the odd one. I'm American and moved to S. Korea 3 months ago. THANK GOD I found this site. I was imagining myself completely cut off from American media for the next three years...I don't speak/understand Korean, so TV here is a bust. Husband is active duty military, and I'm stuck all day in an apartment. Internet here is as slow as watching the darn rice paddies grow. Still, each download is worth the wait!!! Thanks Sharetv! |

Hi All, Well here is my little bit. I was born in a town called Worksop in Nottinghamshire in the UK. Parents took me to the Island of Jersey when I was 2 years old. Spent 2 years living in Miami from the age of 10 and then back to Jersey until I was 18. Then in Granville in France for a year and then to Orlando in Florida for another 2 years. From there back to Jersey until 6 years ago when I moved to Ely in Cambridgeshire in the UK. As for TV, well lets just say i'm a Star Trek Nut but I love Sci-Fi in general. Well thats about it now. Thanks for having a read. |

Hey people, I'm in Southampton, England at the minute but I'm from Cape Town, South Africa via Newcastle upon Tyne, England. I spend far to much time online, and I'm also a devout Pastafarian (we get a stripper factory and a beer volcano in heaven, what do you get?) |
||
> 2 year ago |
I get people like you from the factory to deliver MY STRIPPERS to my mansion, you know the one.... it's inside the extinct volcano near the big hill. Sorry about the overflow lately btw, I think our septic tank is full, I didn't even know until a friend of mine noticed people drinking the overflow, apparently they thought it was beer.... |

@azoth opals are mined in austraila but not in perth.. all we have is sand and heat (nearly a desert). but i like the dry climate. I live about 1k/m from the ocean and the air is fresh and clean! |

Opals are mainly mined in South Australia. The opal capital of the world is Coober Pedy and the people there live underground in houses built out of converted opal mines (very shallow ones of course). Underground houses are perfect in the middle of the hot dry outback. |

I am from Jamaica and it isn't easy here. Our Tv shows show an Tv series for like smallville and then they dont follow up on the episodes or hell even the freaking seasons sometimes you be watching over the same episode like the other week so its kinda hard to know what to expect or to know where the show is going... Am telling you it's shitty. Prison Break they showed like 3 episode of season 1 then they stop showing it for 2 weeks then they went back to episode 2 so am telling its shitty lol. But Sharetv has changed all that and even my friends and family love me so much we now watch Tv - Series as movies lol cause we have like so much catching up to do :D |

Hi, I am from Nepal, born and living in Hong Kong, the city of lights and pirated DVDs. The broadband/DSL is very cheap out here(US$ 15 a month- unlimited with 6m speed), cheaper than the pirated DVD's for sure. A whole season of any TV series only costs about US$10 in pirated DVD ofcourse, and even cheaper in CHina as it comes mostly from there. Its awesome and i have a huge collection which i want to upload here at sharetv when i am capable and knowledgable. We have cable and a local broadband tv channels that includes HBO, ESPN and a lot more and even several Indian channels...lol. I discovered sharetv a week ago and i am loving it. |

Toh's right, the Socialist Ideal is great but the problem is that it's nearly impossible to attain since there are always people,with power, who want to control everything . The closest thing to a successful one, that I know of, is Canada, but even they aren't completely socialist. @toh in regards to the cold war--the governing powers in Russia were just as bad as those in the US and out of two I'm glad that we came out on top--despite the fact that I hate the way our government is currently run, the USA is a melting pot of people and cultures and therefore we are better able to represent non bias views on international relations, and again I'll state that I am opposed to our current state of affairs, but I'm praying that come the election, next year, things will change for the better. |

Yep, I heard that George W. used to smuggle drugs, apparently he can hold close to 10 lbs. of Coke inside his nose! 8D |
||
> 2 year ago |
So smuggling drugs in common between our grate leaders right. Our president is also pretty gud at that. He uses his forces to sell drugs and steal other many other things from the people. All the drugs which goes in to the policestation gets out to the market to sell. |
||
> 2 year ago |
thats ridiculous, they should just make drugs legal and then they could do away with an increasingly dangerous criminal element, and just police people who abuse them like they do with drunk drivers and such. |

I see there are a lot of people from the US. Lots of UK also. A pity there are no Belgians on the net. Seen there is someone from France and someone from the Netherlands. Belguim is situated between the Netherlands, Germany, France and Luxemburg (that is smaller than Belguim). I found this site a couple of months ago. I hope this site will stay for a long time. This is really a good site. While browsing the different shows, I found a lot of shows that I saw in my childhood. The great thing of this all is that I can watch all the new shows before they come on the air in Belguim. In Belguim they allways wait a year or two before they buy some shows. Sometimes they buy a good show and after one season they stop broadcasting it. Now sharetv is a GOOD solution. Thanks to all who make this happen!!!!! Greetz to all of you. |

Wonderful to meet you all! I'm from Manitoba, the center of Canada (no matter what others E or W think ;D). I've lived here all my life, tho I travel lots. I have itchy feet. Found this site in the summer; think it came up on 'Stumble on' an add-on for FireFox. What a fab find!! Great site, and one of the few that I have ever participated in regularly, over my many years on the net (~20). Wonderful to see a global community. I download TV instead of watching 'live'. Commercials suck AND they steal 15-20 min/hour of my life that I watch TV. That's the main reason I download; being able to watch whenever, is a close second (lastly nostalgia). In the last 2-3 years I've watched more TV than in the previous decade. Last shows I had watched regularly were Tour of Duty & China Beach. TV sucks the world over apparently. Canadian TV isn't great, but it does have some good Canadian produced shows; that move to the US if they catch on. (It's simple accounting; 30 million possible viewers VS 300 million.) On our local cable access (ie part of basic TV that MUST be provided to everyone with cable access, the cost of which is regulated) we have the 3 main Canadian channels, an Aboriginal station which has some really interesting programming, some Public Access channels that have programming from all kinds of local ethnic communities (think PBS 20 years ago in lots of languages) and the big 4 US stations (though they can be up to a year behind), Canadian Parliament -live (riveting LOL) and lots of odd stuff, some of which I've blocked on my TV. We can also get cable/satellite access to all the big US channels (up-to-date) movie channels, movie on demand and pay-per-view (about double for all 'premium' stations pay-per-view costs). If you know 'people' & 'things' you can access them for considerably less, tho not always reliably. Basic cable is ~$50/m, while broadband, unlimited access/speed is ~$45/m Cdn. After reading here, I'm reminded that I have it good and shouldn't whine. |

Hallihallo zusammen! @ruyan and @mindblow I'm from Germany, actually living near Munich. Our TV program is filled up with reality shows and daylies. I guess, Germany could have a better program, but they just keep producing bad copies of american shows, instead of being innovative themselves. But in the current situation, i prefer watching american of canadian shows. I stumbled into this site when i was searching for Season 4 episodes of Stargate Atlantis. Hey Peeps, Back on topic, me me me I'm John from Windsor in the UK (Well Eton to be precise) Don't get the wrong idea, I don't drink tea, am not posh and I don't believe in the British monarchy whatsoever, I mean c'mon they're German (no offense,I'm not racist but they're the queen of England should be English). I agree, lots of Brits here! but that's coz our programming sucks compared to that of the U.S, although you copied The Office from us, the best show we ever had was Red Dwarf and that died a slow and painful death years ago, despite it's fanbase. Your also stuck with that dickhead Simon Cowell from our X Factor which is great coz we all loathe him, but the rest of our shows are ridiculously boring soap operas where nothing ever changes and rip offs of US gameshows, correct me if i'm wrong but the UK writers shouldn't join the strike, they don't do anything neways! |

from what I've heard, the main reason there are so many soaps/reality/game shows in UK is that they simply don't have a very large TV budget. IMHO I think they do a pretty good job of at least coming out with a few high budget shows that rock and that's good enough for me ;) They can still put on some excellent quality Theatre productions as well. |

i'm from the moon and we don't have cable around here :( (srry couldn't help it) i'm actually from Romania and my fav tv channel is AXN. i used to watch it a lot till it started to use commercials during the series. The real reason why i started to download series from the internet is bec. 2 of my fav were on the same time on two different channels. A few months later i discovered sharetv. :D |
||
> 1 year ago |
Germany. In a region to solitary to get cable. I hate bad dubbings, cancelled shows and no possibility to discuss/inform myself timenear to the premiere airing-dates of the series episodes => when we get eventually a good series here, it is usually 1 to ??? years later => if we get a for me interesting series at all. So I try to find them in the net and buy them later, when released, as DVD, so I can rewatch the series with (hopefully) subtitles and some extras. Best examples for here never aired series: The Wire, Firefly... = on my top 10 list. |

Hy, I'm from Paris, France. In France too we've to wait at least one year to see the next season of the most known tv shows (and more for the others). Plus, most of the time, we can only watch them in french. So, I watch all of my favourites in english with the Net the very next day they're aered and buy the dvds later for some of them. |

yeah they have a 2nd movie planned as well Below are the synopses for both "Stargate" movies: "Stargate: The Ark of Truth" As SG-1 searches for an Ancient artifact which they hope can defeat the armies of the Ori, they learn more Ori ships are about to be sent through the supergate to launch a final assault on Earth. Daniel discovers that the artifact, the Ark of Truth, may be in the Ori home galaxy, and SG-1 embarks aboard the Odyssey to find it, and pre-empt the attack. The IOA has a plan of their own and SG-1 ends up in a distant galaxy fighting two powerful enemies. "Stargate: Continuum" While SG-1 attends the execution of Ba'al, the last of the goa'uld system lords, Teal'c and Vala inexplicably disappear into thin air. Carter, Daniel and Mitchell race back to a world where history has been changed: the Stargate program has been erased from the timeline. As they try to convince the authorities what's happened, a fleet of goa'uld motherships arrives in orbit, led by Ba'al, his queen, Katesh, (Vala) and his first prime, Teal'c. SG-1 must find the Stargate and set things right before the world is enslaved by the goa'uld. |

||

well ok..there r many kinds of beer around here but as julinee said,there is a lot more to germany than beer.. there r so many stereotypes..I think ppl should b more open minded about other cultures and they shouldn't believe the first thing they hear just because it sounds funny or interesting. as an Arab I really know what am talking about.I've been told a lot of weird stuff about Arabs that I've never heard of. @blairf: since drinking is a way for many to get in a good mood and have fund,in Germany they say that ppl from the south (sunny countries) have better moods,so I say maybe that's why I don't really need to drink to feel good :-) |

@blairf: oh come on! r u serious?? well,hence the fact that am living in germany, it'll b kinda difficult to have camels anywhere near my place , don't u think? ;-) and NO we don't have camels in our backyards in my home country I was just being sarcastic about stereotyping. there r camels in the region but in wilder habitats than populated cities.more in the desert part.but still not an everyday scene for us :-) |
||

OK, you have a point. But winter is not always the same, especially in an international place as we have it here. |
||
> 1 year ago |
well, we have more of a Mediterranean climate in my home town..so we were kinda used to cold weather in the winter but of course not much below freezing.I have to say the high air humidity in Germany was/still a bit annoying for me,and I still hate rainy days. u know Amish ppl r originally from south Germany and parts of Switzerland,and I heard that they still use an old german dialect.after the second world war they don't have communities over here any more. |
||
> 1 year ago |
@fattoush I know in Canada we are used to cold weather, temperatures in the winter of -40 or -50 are not unheard of, fortunately this winter has been a bit milder, no real cold day mostly -10 to -20 just has been snow and snow and snow, not sure if it will ever stop. |
||

i am in Canada too lower not snow belt lol rainning here wet cold muddy ! now anyone want to play in the mud my jeep is ready !!!!!! |
||
> 1 year ago |
@fattoush You are a very beautiful Arab and I'm sure you could convince me of just about anything ;) Personally, I've only had one thing against Arabs and it's not all Arabs it's just the ones who think that it's necessary to keep killing others as well as their own people in the name of misguided religious values. Honestly, what kind of God would want his/her people killing themselves and others in his/her name. For so long people have fought over the Holy Land as if they needed some special land to be one with their God. To truly find spiritual oneness, one must first look within one's self. |
||
> 1 year ago |
@curiousandroid thanx for the compliment. first of all u should have something against that minority who r out of their minds representing no one but themselves and other narrow minded ignorant ppl and not against all arabs. in every country and every culture there is the bad and the good.this is normal it's not just about Arabs.it's just that there was an increased focus on the region coz of oil and political power,it seems to me that the whole world ignored the fact that there r MILLIONS of other "normal" Arabs, who r actually not really that different! in my opinion, u should b against stupidity and ignorance in general not only Arabs. anyway I don't really want to turn this into a political discussion,but feel free to contact me if u want to know more about the other side of the story where not all Arabs are terrorists. and don't worry were not that scary ;-) @james: we used to make mud pies when we were kids,so if u can do that with ur jeep then count me in :-D |
||
> 1 year ago |
@fattoush I actually specifically stated that my qualm wasn't with all Arabs. And I have several posts all over the forums about how fed up I am with the greed and politics all over the world so I won't rant on much in this one ;) |

Qhotbabe: is it wet AND cold or only cold? We have here (I live nearby the mountains on the top of a hill) very cold weather to much 'water' in the air => often that let the temperature feel 'colder' then it actually is. So - 20C feels like -40C.... About beer at McDonalds: i do not know if they still offer it, but in the past it was true. And our beer has a lot more alcohol hen the US beer (and no additional thingies inside, we have the 'Reinheitsgebot' means no additional components are allowed, only the basics.... ) About bad German porns: absolute right, they are really bad. About dubbing: best of Europe? I go crazy because it is sooo badly done. I guess I should give the other countries version of dubbing also a try, but I'll stay with watching the DVD's in the original language. to fattouch: I never thought of 'good' or 'bad' in groups (like nations or religion...) Guess why I chose my username, especially as a German. I hope you do not think I am a Nazi because I am a German ... ;-) |
||
> 1 year ago |
LOL @james and romeo :) @ terrestrial: the thing about dubbing that's what I heard hear (in germany) and actually it doesn't really matter to me coz I prefere watching originals. and all I was saying how I am AGAINST stereotyping and I live in germany for a couple of years now and I don't really judge any1 for anything some1 else did. ich habe nichts gegen die deutschen.keine Sorge,ich konnte mich selber berzeugen, dass NICHT jeder deutsche ein nazi ist. that's it for now every1.. |

Well I'm a Jew and I dated a German girl once and she was very sexy and she never tried to put me in her oven, but when we were in bed she sometimes would scream out German words and that sometimes freaked me out ;) I also dated an Arab American girl, also very sexy, but her parents didn't like me very much ='( I've also traveled to the Holy Land and it was very beautiful but not worth killing over, people just need to learn how to share and compromise and they should also rebel against there power hungry dictators so that there families can one day live in peace. |
||
> 1 year ago |
@fattouch ;-) No no, I didn't meant you think THAT about me, I only wanted to show you, how 'strong' I feel about 'stereotyping' => very stupid in my eyes. |

> 1 year ago |
@terrestrial Kids visit this site and some are members. |
||
> 1 year ago |
well many of our members are from other countries and only Americans are so prudish that they would find this language offensive(Damned Puritans!), in other countries the youth are much more mature(there are also less instances of youth related crimes, you do the math). If you treat them like children then that's exactly how they'll act ;) |
||
> 1 year ago |
@curious Nevertheless there are some who are less than 10 years old. Do you really think it's right for them to see almost explicit items? Perhaps Chris should arbitrate on the matter? BTW I am not a prude just trying to do as I was asked. |
||
> 1 year ago |
So it was not pg-13? I found some explanations in the net what PG-13 means, but they are usually only text's about 'not offensive'. What offensive is for an US I can not find out till now. That example would be here not even nearby of our rules, not even if I would have written it clearer and in complete words. Curiousandroid is right, here we have a very different way to handle language and especially sexual situations. But we have (very) stronger restrictions for children, if a movie/episode/book... is about violence. As an additional example: Here they are also not allowed to practise with weapons under the age of 12 and even when they are 12 there are a lot of rules. Including very explicit rules where and under what circumstances it is allowed even for adults. And we all here are have no private weapons without a permission from the government, only ppl with certain jobs or sport or.... get them usually => in complete very few. So please excuse, I try to learn the differences between the cultures better, one of many reasons I started to use the internet. ;-) |
||

||
> 1 year ago |
I have to agree with terrestrial, in Germany there r different limits for censoring..and the way some subjects r dealt with. it's not about who's prude or not,everything is relative,to a certain extent every1 is a prude to some1 else. so take it easy guys :) F. |

Hi i am from sunny SCOTLAND-Home of the Flightless Haggis, when i was working as a chef for many years was frequently asked by americans about what Haggis is my responce to them was that haggis is a large flightless bird that lives on the moors and only comes out at night lol never once did they even blink :)) I spend most of my free time watching shows online, just recently found this site and absolutly LOVE IT!! |
||
> 1 year ago |
@Quark #1 I think it is their parents responsibility to prevent their kids from viewing anything they may deem offensive not ours. #2 Kids are learning about sex, drugs, and a h3ll of a lot of others things while under the age of 10 from there peers as well as the Internet, TV, and Movies, it's not as if I've stated anything that wasn't true(or that couldn't be found from a simple Google Search). If you try to shelter them it will simply make them even more curious and rebellious. #3 The real world is a jungle filled danger as well as wonder and the quicker they are made aware the better off they'll all be. #4 It's that kind of denial, censorship, and lack of open communication with our children that is causing the rate of teen pregnancy to increase so rapidly.(People need to stop trying rely on the rest of the world to keep an I on their kids and definitely stop blaming others for the obvious consequences of bad parenting.) @williambaxter I know what Haggis is and it's not a bird ;) |
||
> 1 year ago |
@williambaxter ;-) ;-) a 'bird' with 'hairs' ;-) OT: I have heard there are similarities between Scottish and Bavarian receipts, especially with roast pork and beer. Do you know if that is right? I plan to visit Glasgow and London this year, I love UK ( Australia Andalucia), but not the English food => I am very curious about the Scottish food, heard a lot of praise about it. |
||
> 1 year ago |
lol @ williambaxter Your Flightless Haggis sounds akin to the drop bears that aussies warn tourists to watch out for in the bush at night. |
||
> 1 year ago |
@Curious I was only talking about explicit (or close to) postings and yes when a child is a member of this site or just a visitor we should remember that. Or do you when in the company of youngsters still speak as explicitly about adult matters? I would have thought that we do not want parents banning their children from visiting this site just because a few do not think about what they post. |
||
> 1 year ago |
@terrestrial bird with hairs :))) scottish haggis is sheeps liver/lungs and heart mixed with onions/suet/oats then beef stock, then cooked in a sheeps stomach mmmm LOL Bavariian is much the same but in stead of sheeps liver lungs etc its made from pork liver etc.. Glasgow and London are both amazing places to visit and as for Scottish food consists of anything deep fried even mars bars LOL @curious lol your comments always make me smile:)) @every1 else appoagies for going off topic dont want to turn this into a recipe forum :) I hope they dont end lost with it all being a dream, been done too many times before and it deserves more!! |

And i have no idea why i added the bit about lost my head was in 2 Threads LOL :)) |
||
> 1 year ago |
@quark Thanks for that, we should all be accountable! |
||
> 1 year ago |
I don't usually have any reason to be in the company of "youngsters" but if I'm out in public and I say something to an adult that a child overhears, I don't dwell on it. ...and as every parent knows it's nearly impossible to avoid your child hearing something he/she shouldn't and even worse repeating it somewhere he/she shouldn't but that's life and they won't be kids forever so instead of just saying no to shut them up why not take some time to truly teach your kids right from wrong so that they are able to hear things and determine for themselves ;) |

@Quark & Curious I'm a parent and I have a child that visits this site. And maybe once I have had to change the subject when she asks a question, other then that she hears and sees worse things on the school bus. I also understand that many people are trying to keep their children some what sheltered so I try to keep my comments at a PG-13 level. I also don't think that is to much to ask of any of the members on this site. |

@curious I work church as a councellor for teens regularely. The case of the 9-year-old is extreme and terrific. But in case of teens I have to admit: We try our very best to protect them, but if they reall want to, they'll find ways. |
||
> 1 year ago |
true, when I was a teenager the girls were always the ones doing the convincing which I always found strange cuz everyone always says beware of guys cuz they'll do anything to get in a girls pants but I think that it was that kinda of BS and overprotectiveness that makes girls so gung ho about sex despite the fact that they grow up believing that if you aren't beautiful no one will love you because that's how romance is betrayed in movies and tv and the most obvious way to prove "Beauty" or "Love" is sex (Of Course I don't agree with this, but It is my analysis of the common female psychological perspective) |
||

I always did. And I lived a sheltered life. |
||
> 1 year ago |
@curious Of course it depends on the individual, but that's how the media sells it to us. You don't have to wonder where eating disorder comes from. |
||
> 1 year ago |
what's worse is that now the same falicy is being spread to boys too, hence the "Metro-Sexual" obsessed with beauty and without such perfection there is a feeling of filthiness and emptiness. so some people finally realize and try to live life without perfection while others insanely continue, and there are also some who quit altogether by ending there lives, it's a slippery sloap we live in a world so superficial that we are always searching for upgrades for something better to replace our older models and thats why the divorce rate is higher than ever before, becaause ads and media tell us that we need to have better, what works isn't good enough.. |

The English language is so varied and to master it is a virtue.There are many ways to convey your sentiments without being vulgar.I do think it is very low class to speak of certain subjects in a mixed forum.The rest of the world aside,we in the US should set an example of good taste.There are other venues where this is acceptable.It has nothing to do with being prudish,its just good manners. |
||
> 1 year ago |
@Nip, Just a reminder this thread is called "Where are you from",all conversations should be done in your guest books.Especially those of a sexual nature and political and religion. |

@nogds9 yeah in the old west we would probably tie you to the back of a horse and have him drag you in the dirt for miles. That's how they punished those "Classy" types for being so stuck up and prudish, teach you for lookin down on me and my kin. Nogds9 obviously needs to get some...fast here's a good one... A guy sees a five dollar hooker and tells her she gave him crabs and she says what did you expect for five bucks, lobster?!?! That's one for a Maine-Lander ;) |

Hmpf, if I could edit my post I would do it. If I would have been aware that my formulations (what here would be o.K. for 6 years old too) would cause... BTW I am a mother myself and a 6-time aunt I worked for some years as a kind of counceller (term?) in a Youth-center (but it is not my main profession anymore since a long time), did even lessons for sexual education at a normal school (teenagers) ~ 25 years back => I guess it is o.K. to say, that I have some experience what is up in real-life. O.K., only to help to make clear there is a difference between Europeans and US customs: I had yesterday the opportunity to see a preview of P.S. I love You (here still not released). In the US it has a PG-13, here it is for all 'ages' (each age). I am still stunned about why it is PG-13? But I do not judge our system as the 'good' or better one (like I have the feeling other do), I am simple astonished. And I will never again use certain formulations here in the forum, beliefe me. |

Shame Eastenders is such a horrible depiction of some of us Brits, but very true of others. Cricket is a big time drag. I'm not a big sports follower. Hate football. I was looking into finding some work in Oz for this year, but visas and stuff are a problem, thought I might try for a passport from Hutt river principality. might be kinda fun thing to do. :-) |

@kulia I don't think Mars would be great as you put it have you seen THE UNIVERSE S1 02 Mars the Red Planet? That's worse than the Moon. Unfortunately as yet no other celestial body in this Solar System has been found to be able to support humaan life. Now if you meant Ferenginar that's different, my home planet is a wonderful watery place. @extralien You would get bored very quickly. |

@quark - How wrong you are my Ferengi friend. I (the mighty Mekon) was "born" on Venus circa 1750 as the result of scientific experimentation by The Treens - the race I have ruled over for many centuries. |
||
> 1 year ago |
Nagila Mekon I know you can live there I was talking about being habitable for Humaans. See THE UNIVERSE S1 07 Mercury and Venus AHFA AHGBG |
||
> 1 year ago |
When you talk of habitable places, here's a nice little theory for you all to ponder, comes complete with very interesting photographs too.. http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread327511/pg1 |
||
> 1 year ago |
Nagila Quark I knew what your reply would be - you are quite predictable. Although I and the Treens are not human (or as you would say Humaan) we have a very similar physiology. We could live on Venus in the 1750s and so could humaans (even Ferengi - although there were none at that time). The main cause of the demise of Venus was the war we had with Dan Dare. After his attacks, Venus generally became uninhabitable. That said, we Treens do have a small base on Venus and also one on Mars. You Ferengi are also not human - but both species have the ability to adapt and live on certain parts of Venus. AHFA |
||
> 1 year ago |
Nagila Mekon But I was not referring to 250 years ago I was speaking of today. So we are both correct. |

Hi everybody. This is my first time in this Forum. I'm from Watauga, Texas US. For those of you who like Scifi. We have had several UFO sitings in the past couple of weeks in a small Texas town called Stephenville. Interesting stuff. You should look it up on the net. |

@extralien, Went to site you posted above.What are we suppose to look at,can you be more specific.Very confusing if you don't know what your looking for. |
||
> 1 year ago |
nogds, I thought the info on that link was explained by the posters. The pictures are of Phobos, but some think that Phobos is a hollowed out object and has been used as a base. If you look on some of the pictures of the surface, you'll see oddities that don't quite tie in with the natural formation of rocks and strata etc. A prime example is this post taken from that thread, http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/single/3903223.html That structure looks like one of the buildings from Inca/Aztec region.. If so, what's it doing on Phobos?? |
||
> 1 year ago |
@holaholababy43 - What a mouthfull (and I mean that in the best possible taste!) Do I really have to type that out everytime? LOL. Don't believe in UFOs but where does your town name 'Watauga' come from? Is it native American? |
||
> 1 year ago |
@extralien - what is all this tosh about Aztec pyramids on Phobos? You'll be telling us about finding a massive circular ring, with 39 symbols on it, near a pyramid in Egypt next. And no doubt about a race called The Goa'uld. Apologies if you have never seen Stargate SG-1. |
||
> 1 year ago |
@mekon lol.. you'll be surprised. Is this the first time you've heard of structures on the Moon and Mars? There's a lot of genuine NASA images out there of the Moon and Mars that have not been tampered with prior to public release. It takes a keen eye to actually find anything though. There are a lot of people looking over every photo they can get ever since the face on Mars was discovered. If you check the link above, you'll see one of these images of a section of Phobos and you'll see the very unusual 'object' on the surface along with someones 'comprehension' of the dimensions of this object. And yes, SG-1 is kinda cool, and I wonder if you've heard that some people really think these stargates exist and that the tv show is just a cover to bring along disclosure... |

I'm not sure where the name Watauga comes from. I just moved here. It sounds native american to me. And thanks for the compliment James and Romeo:) |
||
> 1 year ago |
@extralien - Too much information friend. In real life I do not believe in any extra-terrestrial beings. I especially don't believe in UFOs. I am an avid SciFi fan and I imagine, eventually, we'll meet another species. But I don't believe it'll happen within a thousand years. If I'm wrong please dig me up and tell me. LOL |

@mekon I agree on UFOs and Aliens. They might be out there, but I'm sure I won't live to see the day we could make contact. And I'm rather careful with conspiracies - even if I have a vivid imagination I can still tell dreams from truth. |

||
> 1 year ago |
Sooner than that ! |
||
> 1 year ago |
@extralien, There could be any number of reasons why these shapes on the surface exist.The more logical and realistic thought would be geological or impact.Depending on the geo-chemical make up of the moon(Phobos)and how long it took it to cool during its birth,so called structures on the surface could be crystallization of the surface. |
||
> 1 year ago |
Ok, kind of keeping on topic here a bit but also going into the realms of possibilities and theories. Where are we from? There are those that think we may be from Mars originally. This could be one way to explain how all the 'structures' seemingly found on Mars got there in the first place. We don't really have much evidence of our selves being here for any amount of time. We all here of 'the missing link' so it could be possible we were from somewhere else but intermingled with life here on Earth. If you're interested I suggest you try a google search for mars/moon/phobos bases or anomolies or any other combination you can think of. You might be surprised at the amount of info there is on this topic relating to structures and oddities being found in official photographs. A lot of people are spending a lot of time studying these pictures, and some have found that NASA actually airbrush out certain areas of photos that they don't want to be shown to the public. I can only point you in the direction of your own research as I'm unable to post pictures in this forum. As for myself, if these structures are genuinely made by the hands of another, then that's fascinating. If they are nothing but natural formations, then so be it. Lots of people would be proved wrong and nothing else will come of it, yet if they're proved right..... |
||
> 1 year ago |
Im from a hole in the ground :-) |
||
> 1 year ago |
Mars lost its atmosphere some 4 billion years ago,when the Earth was still a hot ball.Phobos looks to be a piece of a much larger object(maybe another planet or huge asteroid).Notice the shape and the stratification of the surface.The so called space station appears to be an impact exposed by solar erosion.Funny how fuzzy things get when it comes to showing detail. |
||

Hey,Im from Sweden. We have a lot of great shows on TV but I always forget which day there on so.. haha. The good thing about sweden is that we never dub anything so we get the shows as originals and also a lot faster than everyone that dubs it first.. |
||
> 1 year ago |
@zarus So that's why you have the reputation as the best English speakers amongst nations where it is not their Mother language. Blame it on our TV shows folks. LOL. |
||

@quark haha, I didnt even know that we had that reputation, good for us. =) |

Im from Brazil, Southeast, shows always had been a part of my life but, without cable, we do not have so much option, because all english languages shows are dubbed and i dont like that, i like to watch in the original language, and like that we can just watch on cable, today, cable companies in Brazil are more democratics, more companies and less monopoly, thats very good for us...actually for me, i can say nothing in the place of other brazillians...LOL |
||
10 months ago |
@lukazfranizzi I Agree. All shows that are dubbed look and sound terrible. Dare I say sub-titling is better for those who want their own language? |
||

@quark Yes,I agree with you |

Hi everyone, I live in Switzerland and see the Mt Blanc and Lake Geneva, whenever the weather permits, straight out of my window. ShareTV is my favourite site since a little over a month now for all the info on TV shows and, of course, the TV scramble game!!! I only watch shows online because I hate commercials. Long Live ShareTV !!! |
