I'm always a bit skeptical when a site gets pulled off line for legal reasons. I wouldn't be too quick to upload to them right now. You can go to other sites that will have Demonoid torrents with an added tracker included perhaps. I would wait and see in this case.

I just read their post. I'm not worried about it, but caution is always best.

I know you are correct Trekhippy, but I always get gun shy when the Law sricks it's nose in things. If you are involved in a legal inquiry, even if you are in the right, at best you need to get a second mortgage to pay your attorney. I'd rather error on the side of caution.

I'm with jszing. Caution is one of our greatest allies when it comes to "Law sricks it's nose in things" and i should know it.

but in my opinion, unless they [geek-cops] had the tracker back online just to monotorize another site there shouldnt be any worries. But... then again.. Caution is one fine RPG [gun, not game-type].

Yep.. The typos are killers, but there have been more stings on line than anyone would care to type about. Cops make a living from making arrests. It doesn't matter where they come from. Child porn, Copy write violations, credit card fraud, at the end of the day it all amounts to the same thing. I'm not going to lose sleep over Demonoid, but I surely am not going to upload anything to them that I create for several months. If they are looking at all, I am surely not going to put a giant target on my back. It really doesn't take a geek to track an IP when you have it in front of you. Besides, time flies when you are having fun.

One thing that is obvious with this Demonoid problem is that all Uploads should be spread out to as many torrent sites as possible. So they are still available some place.

Any one got a list of other trackers that we can add to the ShareTv one?

And thus as i see it , it's the Americans that got Canadians Banded from Demonoid since were the #1 pirates and there putting pressure on the Torrents sites to block us, at least the ones within there reach!

Once you activated. go to YOUR Control Panel "Up top on right". Create an invite.

Invitation codes are limited based on time since last creation and other factors.
Please check back this space, you'll be notified here when you are able to create an invitation again. :(:(:(

Have you checked your spam folder,it should be under the name:gatekeeper.

It took me a year and a half to get into D.checked every friday for open reg. One thing you should keep in mind is if you give an invite to someone you will suffer the same penalties as your guest if he/she abuses the site rule.Be warned!

I've been a member now for a few weeks and they still haven't given me any invite codes to give away is that a penalty on the one who invited me or something?

hey does anyone find it kinda of slow downloading I just grabbed bsg from bit.tv and it only took 6mins with the same amount of seeds shows 10 hrs for demonoid will give it a try but think they have to upgrade all there servers

I was downloading bst from both sites to compare dl speed demonoid is a lot slower that it was same file same seeds and peers bittv took 6 mins demonoid took over 90 I am saying it is a lot slower that it used to be or they havent gotten there servers right upto snuff thats all did my own dumb little test

@nogs most of my private trackers do not allow dht and yes it could be because it is in the ukraine not saying it is not good but I think it will take a while to get back to were it was at one point my favourite site always had stuff up really fast including the UK shows I will use it it has great variety and besides my ratio is really really high with them didnt think they would remember anyway my bad if I upset someone

I just checked, and not only is Demonoid back up but my ratio is intact as well. Haven't downloaded anything yet (got a list of stuff waiting to d/load from other sources, but I am sure glad it's back up again. There were movies there I could not find anywhere else.

It might be slow for any number of reasons (most people may not know it's back, for example). We'll see how it goes. But on those rare movies, I'd rather have slow than not at all

As far as being concerned someone is watching, since our accounts are still there, complete with ratios, if they wanted us (whoever "they are") they have us. There's only so much time one can waste being paranoid. And if one is really that frightened, one probably shouldn't be doing torrents at all. Just my opinion....

@quark think you are being a little critical of Captsheidan. He was only commenting that although Demonoid is back(which is good)that when he tested downloading BSG(Battlestar Galactica) with everything equal that he found Demonoid to be slower at present. I found his posts informative. He was not trying to change the empahsis of the thread or post.

dl something myself but it is still slow. My ratio shows 0 ul and 0 dl i always seed at least 2:1 but my ratio never updates, anyone know why?

are you a member if not leave a note in my guest book and if you are email them they are pretty quick about getting back at least they were and how many connected seeds are showing on utorrent if none are showing then that is the reason for no download or upload

If you are d/ling torrents that are externally tracked,your ratio will not change.Another thought,are you logged in when you d/l the torrent?Hope to see sirious share uploading his old classics soon.

@capthseridan, ohh I see so it was a speed comparison between demonoid and bittv. That's cool then.

My profile and share ratio are also intact on Demonoid. Have yet to try downloading anything from them, just haven't seen anything I want from there yet.
