Hi
I started reading some comments on shows I dont know and find them very interesting, comments regarding storyline flow, who are the main characters, is the acting good, is the footage good etc. I stopped reading comments on the shows I follow, because some comments contains spoilers, mostly unintentional I understand, cause you want to comment on a specific thing that was interesting or that was a mistake in timeline etc, but it spoils the outcome.

Apart from that excellent site, and i can now properly start to contribute with seeding as access rates in south Africa jsut became cheaper, though speed is still a pain, 2 days to DL one episode, at least i am seeding for thos 2 days as well.

Cheers

Totally, dont stop, I love tv and have seen shows here I have never heard of as well as seen that there are several more seasons to look forward to. The comments really help, especially if the first episode wasn't too good, but subsequent episodes gets good review.

This is the "TV Show Chat"section, there are bound to be spoilers. It would be very hard to have a meaningful discussion without talking about the show and its characters in depth.
If some one wants to know about the show without spoilers they should go to Reviews.
It should be stated that there will be spoilers in the TV Chat section, because we are chatting about the shows.
Please add to the tv chat link just below its title, that this section will contain spoilers.
It can't be helped in good conversation.

Nevertheless members should try not to post spoilers if at all possible.

Where possible please allude to the point of interest in such a way as only those who have seen the episode concerned will understand.

I believe that they may soon be discussion pages attached to shows where 'anything goes' and if you view there you will see spoilers if you are not up to date.

Why is this section called "TV show Chat"if you can't chat about what you have seen?

I didn't say couldn't. I merely asked for some consideration if possible.

First, I want to thank members who take the time to identify their spoiler comments and discussions with repeated characters (*****Spoiler Alert*****) before [and after] such a post...

However, I've noticed that some are creating a ton of white space, then entering one line...

I don't know about you, but I find this wasted space annoying... two or three of these in a row, and I feel like I'm scrolling forever...

I know Chris has not yet provided a solution via episode by episode discussion linked from the show page to the forum, so we're all doing the best we can...

But, can we agree to cut down on the wasted space?

Your thoughts?

BTW, my above comments relate only to the Forum, not the Review section, as spoiler comments are not allowed there ;)

I agree a line thus

******Spoiler****** or similar warning

With no more than 2 space lines is ample.

Same here.Would love to talk in depth but am reluctant.Perhaps a thread for spoilers or a thread for the popular shows with title "Lost spoilers" or "Smallville spoilers"?

@Nog

Yes, Chris had authorized this last year. If members want to start weekly threads to discuss shows, by the episode, they may do so...

Until he has things set up properly with links from the show page, members are free to use a weekly thread to discuss any show they like...

http://sharetv.org/forum/discuss/Q_103800

I received authorization from Admin on this last year when a member wanted to do this for Smallville, the member was notified, and Admin granted this permission to anyone who wanted to do this.

I'm quite fond of spoilers, they make me even more attracted to the show.Plus others might be able make more insightful observations than I.Join me on the Golden path.Shahaloo.

If you're planning to create a "per episode" thread for any show, remember to follow Admin's instructions in the link given in my post above and include "Spoiler" in the title so members won't inadvertently click on it!

For example:

Smallville Season 7 Episode 8 **Spoiler Thread**

If you label (title) weekly spoiler threads incorrectly, without giving members notice, or specific information in the title that it's a spoiler thread, they will be deleted and you'll be asked to re-post.

Members are free to continue using ONE thread to discuss a show on an ongoing basis, weekly spoiler threads are not a substitute for this. They are to be used for discussion of ONLY that episode, nothing more.

Keep in mind, of course, Admin is free to change his mind about allowing this...

@members

TV show "spoiler" threads (not episode by episode discussions)...

Same rule about labeling applies - make sure members know it's a spoiler thread....

For example:

Lost **Spoiler Thread**

An intro post should tell members that they must be up-to-date in their viewing, and can discuss all aspects of the show.

This will mean there shouldn't be much more than 2 "main" threads for any show (with the exception of occasional specific questions). Those occasional threads will be deleted by mods when it is clear the question / problem has been taken care of...

Questions? Comments? ;)
