Demonid is pretty good, but does any one have an account on HDbits.org? Is it any good? I dont have an invite so I've never seen what they have. It would be nice to find a good HD TV source.

Hi N8ph8ts: I like Demonoid a lot. The Downloads are quick and I can usually find anything I look for including programs. I have been using it a long time and I have never gotten a virus. It also has new movies before most others. What else can I expect from any site?

I also use "iptorrents" but I find Demonoid much better in content and safety. They also have an invite system but no one ever requests them. I appreciate your comments.

i know what you mean....but i found downloading is much faster on "ip" & other sites compared to "demonoid"..i still use it but not very often...by the way nice to meet you

The Speed is very good here for the most part. I get a lot of my TV torrents from Demonoid and they are usually pretty fast. The work great here too. I do not download movies at all so I'm not sure how fast they are with those.

i do a lot of movies for the grandkids.....used to be with "pipex" server they were bad,so changed to"virgin media" what a difference been on cable,can do a 700mb film in about 45min now campared to 8hrs with telephone...lol

Keep in mind that speed depends alot on the number of seeders/leechers in a swarm. It can also depend on how you've routed your ports and how you allocate your bandwidth.

I love Demonoid, I find axxo on there alot! Never heard of the iptorrents, will check it out though!

OMG, I have "IPtorrents" and never use it. I attempted to download an episode of "The Closer" a few weeks ago and got disgusted after a day and a half of crawling along at 1.5Kb/s. Even after a day and a half I was only at 60I went to Mininova and downloaded the same Episode and it took only 31 minutes. I offered an invite for a trade for a Demonoid invite and the guy told me "No Thanks". LOL I really didn't mean to insult him.

I sent you the Demonoid invitation Heiqal. You can help yourself with Demonoid, and help us here by downloading torrents we do not have and putting them on ShareTV. That's the whole purpose of sending the invites. If you need instructions on how to do it, please let us know.

demonoid is different to share,on demonoid you can download everything from TV stuff to programmes you nead for your comp
eg..films....music...games....ect...ect
share is only TV programmes

With most sites, when you download programs you take a chance of getting a virus and it's a good bet you will. However you can safely download from Demonoid. No worrying about a virus. They also have the largest selection of Torrents. Most of the good Torrents people submit on this site are from Demonoid.

if you have been dowloading a lot from different sites its a good idea to get a cleaner...i use "CCLEANER" ITS a free download,just google it

I'm not a tremendous Demonoid fan but if you look at the majoprity of Torrents people add here, they are from Demonoid one way or another. Even if you are getting from Mininova or IP, there are a ton of Demonoid Torrents in there

hehe, all you guys are funny all the commotion over demonoid invites. Demonoid is at the bottom of the Private Tracker food chain.
I don't have demonoid, so i can't honestly or accurately say too much but from people i know, It better than public torrents, maybe a little more seeds, no chance of absolute crap, that sort of thing, nothing too special though. I would like to see what it's all about for myself though so... *eats own words* if you have a spare invite, I'd appreciate it.

I just found out not more than an hour ago that Oink was shut down, pending further investigation.

I use Sharetv obviously for tv torrents..it's the best I've found so far. Clear, organzied, steadily gathering a nice selection of shows to pick from. Cool that you can find older series. People are friendly, helpful...no porn in your face ads.

Demonoid I like for audio books, games, apps, older movies and music. I like them for their tidy, neat organized site. People over there are friendly and helpful. You get to know the uploaders and trust their stuff. They have a lot of stuff there I just don't find on other sites.

Superfundo is another growing site their forums have helped me countless number of times when I'm having a meltdown on some tech issue. I get AXXO's stuff there.

Releaselog I use for cam, R5, screeners and get the heads up on nuked releases..

K, this has gone on far enough just wanted to say there are a ton of sites out their and people use different ones for different needs..it's all preference. Doesn't make one bad or better. It's if the site is organized helpful, up to date and meets your needs and the people are friendly.

@quark,Of all the sites I use for torrents of any kind,D holds onto more seeders longer and you can go back a year looking for torrents and still find them well seeded.I find hard to find movies and TV shows.For example I just found all 156 eps.of TheTwilght zone well seeded and am dling all 28GBs of it.

I agree with you Azoth. Demonoid torrents are always well seeded. The reason is that people upload Demonoid Torrents on to even the largest Torrent sites, and it keeps multiplying. The Demonoid Tracker pulls all these in. If you look at the User loaded torrents in ShareTV, 95f them originated from Demonoid. It makes it easy for us to upload 40 gigs at a time here because we don't have to seed them all ourselves.

Look for some newbies who got their invite and that's the last we saw of them.

@quark,I understand,but hopefully thats not the case.People should be carefull who they give invites to,if they don't know them or if they have only been on site a short time.Remember if you give an invite to someone and they abuse the site you will suffer the same as your guest.All you can do is hope people with invites will be responsible.I really don't see the compatition.If they don't stay for what we have to offer then who needs them.All you have to do is look at the numbers,we're not hurting.

You made a good point Quark. I was burned by a newbie from here that I gave an invite to. He got the invite and I never saw him here anymore. He did a number of things that upset Demonoid and I received a warning. They also suspended my invites for two months and my uploads and downloads for a month.

None the less, please understand that we are not advertising at all for Demonoid. They don't need us to do that for them. It is beneficial to use their torrents especially for large files because of the long life of the torrent and the large number of seeders. ShareTV could never rival with Demonoid because they are two different types of sites. ShareTV is just what it says... TV. Demonoid is big in Applications, Movies and Music. TV is a very small part of what they do. The addition of EZTV made us much less dependant on sites like Demonoid, but we still have to get older show files from someplace. You saw what happened when Mustafa left and took down all of the 24 Seasons he was seeding. If he had added another tracker like Piratebay or Demonoid, they would still be alive. I uploaded a lot of files to share TV since I started. The first 20 or so I just used the shareTV tracker, and like what Trekhippy complained about, I didn't get anyone to help seed. It was a take a run deal. So I started to upload to Demonoid first and then I downloaded the torrent I uploaded to Demonoid and uploaded it here. That solved my seeder problem.

if you check,ratio only work if you download a demonoid torrent,(EXTERNAL TORRENTS) dont go against your ratio.

Yes N8ph8ts. You are correct. Ratio only counts for your score in Demonoid if you upload, download or seed, however if you upload a Demonoid Torrent to another site, say ShareTV, Demonoid still tracks the torrent and any leecher or seeder from any site that is working that torrent anywhere will help keep it alive on the Demonoid site. If it did count when you upload to another site, you would very easily be out of Ratio because the downloaders would count agasinst you too. As you know, most people hit and run rathher than seed.

I like your Idea Azoth. I will only give out invites to someone if they are among the top 25 here. I've given out 9 invites so far to people on ShareTV and only one of those people are still active here.

ye ive found this quite anoyin to jszing. all the invites ive given to have been newbies and then i havent actually seen them again on this site. from now on ill be giving to people who have at least 300 points then i no there dedicated to this site.

With respect what it really needs is for a moderator to vet each thread asap after it is posted and to be able to delete any that are repeats and/or duplications

I like ShareTV because it is so inclusive. I'd hate to see alot of banning going on. On the other hand, if you get to threads the way I do, working down the list as it appears in the forum, you will always get the most recently active. I have never made it all the way thru page 2 yet. So this is the only 'demonoid' thread that I have run into. If there are alot of duplicates then threads could be dying out because they get snowed under. Sooo capping duplicates and redirecting to existing threads seems like a good idea. Of course it's easy for me to say that because I wouldn't have to do it.

Yes, cookies are enabled. I've been a member there for about a year. I had no problems getting onto the site before it went down for a while recently and even when it came back on (I don't live in Canada) but then suddenly -- nothing.

I don't know what to tell you then because it's definitely up, I go there almost every day...

could it have accidentally been added to your hosts list:
"C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts"
if so then it would come up as blank page every time
also it may be blocked by a browser or security program.

It's not listed on my hosts list.
I've tried four browsers (Firefox, Opera, Netscape and (ugh) IE. Same result every time.

When I tried through an anonymous site I could see the site again, but, of course, could not login.

Could my IP (even though it's dynamic) be blocked for some reason? Do you think trying through a proxy might be a workaround?

I have one more idea-- Release/Renew your IP adress so that you have a new one and then try--instructions on how to do this will most likely be available on your Cable/DSL/Router Website.

I'm not giving invites to complete strangers, don't wanna get hit with the banstick just because they screwed up!

That's definitely a good idea they can be pretty strict with abusers there, I would be careful to with my invites but I haven't received any codes yet, but I read that you must be a member for a month b4 you get 1.

@nip,I have this problem sometimes.I cure it by resetting my modem.I don't know why,but sometimes the speedtouch won't let me connect to certain websites.Resetting it fixes this for me.

Since my IP address is dynamic, doesn't that mean that it resets every time start my computer or reset the modem/router?

I was able to connect to Demonoid after it came back online and was blocking Canadian use. But, as I said, I'm not in Canada, so that wasn't surprising. This blank page thing was sudden; one day I logged on fine, the next day the screen was white. I haven't installed (or uninstalled) any new software or changed any settings either.

This is the only site I've ever had this problem with. My modem/router get reset fairly regularly (IP hiccups sometimes). And I've reset it at least 3 times since this problem started; no joy.

@devaasha,have you given invites to anyone?If so I wonder if you have been banned for someone elses indiscretions.Perhaps email Demonoid to clear up.It does sound like your being blocked.

@devaasha,you can check your IP configuration by:start/run/type in command/click ok/type in ipconfig/all,/then hit ok.This will show you your configuration.take down this info.type exit and hit enter.check info. against your network config.to see if all is same.If you have to forward ports on a routor its a good idea to set up a static address.

I'm not sure if someone else has suggested this but it could be a corrupt/invalid cookie so try clearing your private data and the cache in your web browser

In Firefox it's as simple as >tools>Clear Private Data and making sure you have cache and cookies selected

NOTE: this will force you to log-in to all your sites again but it won't forget any saved passwords.

Not necessarily, but you can check just find your current IP, write it down, than reboot your modem, and check it again compare both IPs to see if they are different if not than proceed as previously instructed.

@azoth I haven't given invites to anyone, so that isn't the problem. Have checked IP configuration and checked the proper settings at USRobotics site and they are correct.

Yup, Demonoid have had to go offline again;

It’s been just over 6 weeks since the CRIA allegedly shut down the Demonoid BitTorrent tracker. Details were scarce at the time, with lots of people simply claiming the site had some technical or server issues. Indeed, TorrentFreak came in for quite some criticism when we claimed the CRIA was involved, but when the site returned there were some ominous signs which seemed to support our claims.

Eventually, the Demonoid trackers reappeared, followed by the site itself but was forced to block Canadian visitors by the CRIA. However, despite blocking Canadians, it seems the CRIA hasn’t yet had enough of harassing Demonoid and its host.

On Demonoid.com we now read:

“The CRIA threatened the company renting the servers to us, and because of this it is not possible to keep the site online. Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for your understanding.”

Indeed, Demonoid’s host had previously said that if it had any major hassle, it was likely it could pull the plug on the site.

A message on the Demonoid IRC channel says: “Site is down, tracker is up. Expect the site to return, unless we hear otherwise from Deimos.”

Canada seems to becoming more unfriendly for BitTorrent sites - Demonoid aren’t the only ones being threatened by the recording labels there.

This demonoid thread may explain the multiple 'allegations of copyright abuse' notices from my ISP over the last 2 weeks. They were all about 2 episodes of House, and when I checked demonoid was in the tracker list. I live in Canada. I guess I'm going to have to check the tracker lists and make sure demonoid isn't there. Maybe they came back up to 'tag' downloaders.
How's that for a conspiracy theory ;)

well I think they may open Demonoid back up soon on the site it has a new link to the forum and says they want to keep the community alive which leads me to the conclusion that they are currently in the process of finding a new host and hopefully they'll be back by the time the strike is over ;D

Just to help out with that, I am pretty sure Demonoid does have registration open on Saturdays. Also, I realize many think Demonoid isn't really a 'private tracker', however, they do still keep track of ratios and invites and if someone invites someone else who ends up not seeding, well it could look bad for the invitor, so be prepared to give some screen captures of a site you have good seed ratio on.

@kaytee so far it looks like you've figured out how to pick a show. What directions are you looking for exactly? Also, please do not post in all capitals as this is considered shouting. Also, please use the search function to search the forums for topics that are similar to your question, or post a new thread if you do not find one.

You should probably go to your local library, community college, or even your local computer store for tutoring in how to use a computer, but you seem to use one well enough to get on site and post and pick a favorite show, so please read the site rules and good luck.

Now, back to the topic. I hear Demonoid is open registration on Saturday.

I wouldn't bother trying to join Demonoid,in my albeit short experience with torrents I find EZTV much better.

EZTV is a public site
IPTORRENTS is a private site and you have to be carefull of you ratio and not let it drop much below 1.0

iptorrents ROCKS private is the only way to go...

again I will say invites must be earned I have many for ip bit the box and a few others but the must be given to only the desvering and yes private trackers are the best no question trust is not a one way street any more which is actually very sad indeed

Well, I'm having trouble with seeding just cause no one is trying to get the latest eppy of prototype this from IPtorrents. I do have invites for both iptorrents and demonoid but I require a screencap of your profile from torrent sites you've been on that show you're good share ratio.

i do,very good site,i get most of my "axxo" torrents from there,
very rare to get any bad torrents,and always plenty of leechers/seeders so no worry about ratio's.and private trackers are always better for speed.

i use demonoid but my ratio never updates, i dl seasons 4-7 of mad about you and seeded them back X3 but it still says i have dl and ul 0, any ideas why this happens?

The shows that are externally hosted on trackers other than and in addition to demonoid trackers are not added to your ratio.I seeded DS9 for a year and did not enhance my ratio,had it done so my ratio would be 30:1.
