@romeo53 -- I'd suggest VLC for viewing, second choice would be SMPlayer. VLC has play "injured" files on occasion. I do all my burning (as data) with Nero.

For an anti-virus, I'd suggest Avast, for Spyware -- Spybot Search and Destroy. For adware Adaware. As a firewall -- Comodo. All the above are free.

From Linux-land;
GIMP for photo editing
Handbrake my custom software for ripping and auto-titling DVDs
Antivirus: None needed.
Malware: None needed
Downloading files in general: wget
Downloading torrents: Transmission
Video editing: Avidemux
Playback: MPlayer or Xine
Simple transcoding: ffmpeg or mencoder
Software I use when getting suspect attachments: common sense.

Wow, kind of an old thread, but nyways, I'm posting for someone to help me with a project involving creating a Star Trek styled outfit design for my avatar on another website where one can join in Online Big Brother/Surviror, and other Reality Show based style games. They have a link for their own sort of base avatar design, and you can go into advanced mode and use their 'template'. I clicked on the download link for that and it looks like a page of code that comes up in a new tab on Firefox. Then I found another site that said I could download another template designed to be used with Paint.net, so I got that as well.
Nybody that can and wants to help me out, please pm me! Thanks in advance.

The reasons I want to do a Star Trek design is because of the following...

A: They do not seem to have many Star Trek fans there and I thought I could build some interest...and..

B: The designed outfits they have are just not a good representation of me, especially on that site, because I appear to be the oldest person on, so most of the designs are better representative of the majority of the people there.

Thanks again!

LOL ok, well I got no help at all anywhere with that above, but now I have a new problem. I am trying to get Unreal Tournament to host a game on my pc for a Network game, over the Internet. I keep getting host unresolved and Master Server Unresolved. Any ideas?
