Health care is a for profit business. Everyone should carry a gun. We should send American jobs to Communist China. Evolution should not be taught in school. The unemployed are lazy. Trespassing should be punished by death. Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. George Bush did not steal the votes in Florida in 2000. Elderly can have either medicine or food. America is the greatest country in the world. Troop deployment is the answer to all international problems. Cuba is a threat. Aid for the poor is the job of religion. We have to start spending billions to go to Mars. Killing can be justified and there are good wars. We don't want to be like Europe. |

@nogds9 Have to agree with you on that. Although this was place in what is the open chat no related to tv chat section I have to apoligize for my prior statment. To lump all AMERICANS under "SINGLEW4'S" statment above is offensive and untrue. |

@joker True, this is a soap box of sorts,I retract my previous statement and agree with your final statement. |

I hate talking about politics so let me bring up this one, eleven years ago I woke up a single parent with 4 children. I thought I was familiar with the narrow minded until I became a single custodial dad with 4 children. I went from solid tax payer to part time worker and recipient of food assistance. So many people I met could not imagine a mother abandoning her children. But I also found an underground of people from families where there was only a father and I met many custodial dads. Talk about being isolated in our society, there are many of us and we are hidden. My youngest at the time was only 8 months and my oldest was then 10 years. I don't think my older two boys now 21 and 19 will make the marital mistake I made but it could have been worse if I spelled out my bitterness for them but on the other hand they had their mother reject them and that must have destroyed so much in them. Like I say I hate politics but it is a game we can all get upset about and forget. There are other things in this life that are more real. |

@joker & nogds9 in unrelated chat you can talk about anything you want until admin-mods put some guide lines in place its up to the person what they want to post if you don't agree with the persons post don't read it and leave it at that |

@single The thread is on topic, it may stimulate debate whether @joker believes anything or nothing in previous statements. @joker "Lumping all Americans under SingleW4's statement above is offensive and untrue" That appears to be a retraction of your previous apology! At least the way you wrote it! You may not agree with the statements Health Care is a for profit business That is correct in the USA, some would say even in socialist Canada (Haves and Have nots) Cuba is a threat! If you read some of the other threads on manipulation by big business/government on the US population this at least deserves some second look. Anyone of those beginning comments could start it's own thread whether true or not! |

It seems to me that singlew4 should not have created a new thread for this relieving of his frustrations and sense of being hard done by. If he wished to post this abuse of the American people it should have been in Adults only where all the other rantings and ravings are situate. OK that's my wooden spoon contribution!! |
12 months ago |
@singlew4, how much of that do you beleive yourself?, is that what you think americans believe surely it could only be a small minority that would be so short sighted |
12 months ago |
None of it, I don't believe any of those things. Some of those beliefs are the law, others are held by the majority and some only a nutty minority. Who likes my new avatar? |
12 months ago |
@singlew4, I don t have words to express what I felt about your new avatar. :-) I do suggest you to return to the previous one. :-) I think what you are telling is: your society has cultural conflicts. But, my friend, all societies in the world has! We are many, even in our country! Who is favor; who is against; who is in the middle; above all, the bastard that we did put as a CEO of our Nation. Everything is linked and it is a result of our actions, as person, as citizen and as human being. The actions, the culture and the way of thinking of a nation are a result of historical acts! If we don t like the consequences, we have to compromise us, to change it! |
12 months ago |
every group in the world has it's own beliefs and it's very very small (1 person only). p.s. one site i thought it was ONLY bout tv. whose idea was that to add a new category. :( (never mind - just thinking out loud...in writing) |
12 months ago |
I am at a loss for words about your new avatar too single4w. Please go back to the old one. |
12 months ago |
@luacheia Remember you only insult the parents not the person when you use that word. By the way swearing is forbidden anywhere on this site. @b3giner There was so much chatting in the regular forums that the administrator decided (after representations from members and mods) to have an area for chatting so as to leave the regular forums for TV and site topics. |

@singlew4 I'm relieved they are not your views, but i think the healthcare comment is true for your country (unfortunately) I hope the UK doesn't go that way. I worry we lose our national health service and only get the health care we can afford to pay for. I don't want to be told that one of my kids has cancer and my insurance doesn't cover it. |

@singlew4 I love that avatar because I'm a big fan of LEGO :) And for your tread. I believe that's how many Europeans look at America. Many I've met find the American system very cynical. For us it seems like you never look over the fence, even in this technological day an age. I wont say that's how it is because I've never been in the US or lived there. But from what u pick up trough the media I would say thats quite on the spot. |

@harryheck, When luacheia made her statement about his avatar,it was a picture of himself naked. |
11 months ago |
I guess it shows what people who go around proclaiming "What Americans Believe" believe...and is about as accurate. Lame, even for a TV site. W~~~ |
11 months ago |
@dogds9 M-kay, then i wouldn't have liked it I guess. Only been a member for a couple of weeks. But I'm still in to LEGO. U know the inner child thing :) |

et al. The thread "What Americans Believe" by definition should probably come from the American people. I think you can start with the Constitution it is a start! We could start a new thread "What we think Americans Believe" @singlew4 has a unique perspective on this site |

@fozzy, Yeah,bitterness and self loathing.re:singlew4 @harryheck, Welcome to the forum,I like lego too,I've never grown up. |
Welcome harryheck, First the previous avatar was a waiste up shot. Mrsjerry had been showing her form so why not I? I do loath what the US has been doing at home and abroad and I was reacting to some of the conservative views which went unquestioned. That was 2 months ago and since then I decided to share what we enjoy in common on this site - it is ShareTV and ignore the social commentary. Too bad our world leaders have not learned from Legos whose wordless instructions are understood planet wide. Lego has united people in that way without a war. |

@singlew4. hi. im not sure about your earlier post, but i agree lets enjoy share tv. how old are your kids. ? i feel its a bit harder for a man to bring up children especially girls!!. tho my dad did it exceptionally well. :) |

@merlin, Thanks for asking, like a typical proud parent let me answer you in ossifying depth. I have 4 boys, 22,20,14 and 12. My youngest was only 8months when mom took off. He is disabled, unable to feed, dress or toilet himself. You can read more in my journal which I would like to publish. Here is the link; http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/myelin-mail/files/ |

Now, now folks - this is a friendly site - let's keep politics at arms length. Singlew4 is entitled to his opinion and holaholababy43 to hers. There is no need for name calling. Discuss, inform and disagree, if you must, but don't be abusive. Generally, it is better to avoid politics and religion, because these subjects are too deep and emotional, to solve on sharetv. |

Some of the French are not too happy with their president for not being high brow enough and not bowing to the French culture industry in his policies or personal life. That is fine for them and non of my business. But one of their insults for Pres. Sarkozy is to call him an American. What the heck did we ever do to them? BTW Odo, I was in a war back in the mid=late 1960's. |
