Thanks Joker, I would only add, for those that post links to other torrent websites and resources (which is fine), they will not be active hyperlinks - only links for pages within the sharetv site will show up as active links (this is to avoid activity from those who would spam the site). |

Nagila uncle, This is going to sound stupid but I don't know what paste is,I don't think I've ever done it.I also see on occasion cut and paste and I'm ignorant of this practice. AHFA,Nog |

Okay, here are some more detailed instructions for anyone who wants to incorporate an active hyperlink within a comment on this site... For example, you've added a comment in the forum about a tv show and you want to include an active link for members to view that show page on Sharetv... 1.) Click your mouse (once) on the http://sharetv.org blah blah blah URL address of the page you want to "copy" a link for (you'll see that the address is highlighted by being selected) 2.) Use the keyboard short cut keys to "copy": Control and C This will hold that address in your clipboard while you type your forum post - when you're ready to "paste" use the keyboard shortcut: Control and V Now, it may take a moment to become an active link, but if you want to make sure it works, simply refresh your browser (keyboard short cut key is typically F5) You can do this at any point on the site, in the forum, in reviews, on guestbook posts... If you'd like to practice the technique, feel free to do so by posting in my (or a friend / relative's) guestbook. |

Note: your link will not become active until AFTER you've finished posting your comment and it has been added to the site. Then, you can refresh your browser to see whether it has been successful... |

BUMP simplistically put to create a live link to another page in sharetv put the http:// in front. Thus .. This is me sharetv.org/user/quark but with http:// in front it is a live link to me. sharetv.org/user/quark as said this will not show for you until you have exited and then come back in OK. |

...just so members are not confused... May I add, that when you use the "copy" and "paste" method - it automatically captures the http:// In other words, members do not actually have to "put the http:// in front" To see the hyperlink become active, after you have finished your post and have hit the Add Comment button, just hit your "refresh" key on your keyboard (mine is F5) and you'll see the results immediately (without exiting the thread and coming back in)... As always, there are at least 3 different ways to do the same thing when using a computer, pick the one that is easiest for you ;) |

Thanks Kolbinfo I was trying to be simplistic for beginners and you have given an experienced outlook plus and have contradicted me. |

lol... I didn't realize members were somehow missing the http:// I think that falls under the category of "how'd they do that?" *wink* Think, the old American Express ad slogan... http:// ...don't leave the "copy and paste" process without it... |

They most definitely are. so I repeat for people new to computers simplistically put to create a live link to another page in sharetv put the http:// in front of its title Thus .. This is me sharetv.org/user/quark but with http:// in front it is a live link to me. sharetv.org/user/quark as said this will not show for you until you have exited and then come back in OR have refreshed the page. OK |
